For those threatening liable language… perhaps the t’s and c’s of f chat agreements of joining provide some cover to the effect of… “all statements made on f chat are baseless of fact or knowledge… and are fictional purely for entertainment purposes…. Further participants are generally impaired mentally or via consumption of beverages… “. I know this applies to me most of the time here…

The delay in delivery was apparantly due in part to development, but the EAG installation in the 599 is first class and well constructed.
Shifts great with no issues. Only 25 599's done and I am not concerned about value. No one else could do it any better.

Based on some comments I would be very curious down the road how the EAG converted car's values hold up.
For the sake of the owners I hope the cars aren't impacted by this unfortunate situation.

Its a non event - they will be worth the same as a dr s car, more than an f1 that needs an actuator, and less than an a factory car

I wonder if converted cars have surpassed factory gated cars yet?

Why the rush to ditch the f1?

Do you think most cars will be converted in the next 10 yrs?

How is DrS kits a knockoff of EAG kits? Have you even seen the kits?
Art tired to make "oem style" cast of the original shift tower(those were the earlier kits) but didnt succeed in making them perfectly, he even tired 2 piece cast and that didnt work.(this picture).....which is why he went with a custom billet 1000 parts forming into one tower. DrS kits are copies of the OEM with success. I dont think there is a single part of DrS's kit that is a copy of EAG. I dont understand how that could be a copy of EAG. Also you dont need to have only Trev's tune to make the conversion work.

Also I dont know if you know, but Modena Lucerna is coming out with the 599 kit hopefully its a OEM copy as well...they say its not a cable shifter and that it will be exactly like the original. I already know this will be better than custom aftermarket made box from EAG
Hopefully you wont have problems with your early shifter tower/box or actuator later in the future like some of the 430/360 people are having....incase EAG doesnt come back

The EAG product was and still is good until today with high quality parts and excellent manufacturing. Once adjusted and programmed by Trev, the car runs great. Dan's 599 was supercool, shifted like butter, and was a blast to drive.

The problem is Art. He is bad with money and stinks at running a company. The investors will bounce back from this, but Art will never recover. He is finished.

purely mechanical. In the shift turret there is a plastic bushing that failed, likely due to heat from the exhaust. This was causing vibration…

I don’t see why anybody is arguing here. All the kits are basically copies of what the original was with each company doing whatever they thought was an improvement to either the design or the manufacturing process. It’s not like this car was never a manual to begin with.

Also, Trev will happily tune whatever kit you have. Yes, it may have been included with an EAG install, but they’re not tied to the hip. I have a Dr S kit and am having my ECU’s tuned by Trev. I have other tuning aspects I’m addressing at the same time in case anybody is wondering why.

Lastly, I don’t see any rocket science going on here where the lack of having EAG exist at all would prevent someone from repairing or maintaining their car with another vendor. It has already been done with a former EAG customer going to Dr. S for parts and repair. Unless someone other than Art decides to buy the whole enchilada from under him, I don’t see there being any sort of strong desire to resurrect EAG for the sake of maintenance or repeat customers. At this point, it would likely be cheaper to just start another company doing the same thing instead of buying any sort of negative brand recognition that might come with EAG.

Probably best not to tell the EPA that.

For home use it might be different but for casting metal for commercial purposes, the regulations are prohibitive. Also, the fines and punishments for doing it commercially outside their regulations alone would have sunk EAG.

Does anyone remember how someone pulled this crap back with Vipers back in the early 2000s? Now he's making 300 MPH bespoke cars. Trust can be bought back, apparently. Or people forget.

I wouldn’t deposit a single penny for a 599 kit until the company displayed their carbon center console. EAG provided a very nice one of their own design as the location of the shift gate was more center based on their unique cable shifter design.

If the company is replicating OE’s rod shifter design, they would also needed to have replicated OE’s carbon center console. I doubt they got their hands on one. Possible, but unlikely.

My father ran an art foundry in New York state for decades. He was pretty much free to do whatever he wanted. There wasn't any oversight and the regulations were pretty lax. He was next to a stream that led into a state reservoir too and that didn't matter. His foundry was a barn and a converted garage that used to be a gas station in the 50's. He was the type of guy who declares garage sale earnings on his taxes and probably never broke a single law in his entire life. Not even speeding.

I don't know what regulations or problems you refer to but to cast metal, you need money, equipment, a place to do it and a reason. Not a lot more.

(Before you say it, my father worked for the state refurbishing bronze statues for decades without any issues regarding the casting of metal.)

Most business people fail several times before they succeed.

unlike sky diving the us system allows one to redo redo redo until you succeed.

I respect arts technical cap and his vision to start this train rolling.

    anyone can repeat a theme…

I bet you see art back in the game in some capacity,

I’m not his advisor.. but if I were I would suggest settling this mess…

have an honest look back at what worked and what failed… learn.. then get back in the game….

play to your strengths and grow carefully…

    under promise and over deliver…

    anywho… gl

And please make that gated c8

You know, I was talking to my dad about the whole casting bullets things the other day. We really couldn't understand why anyone does that? Why don't you just buy them? Do you really save that much money? Why expose yourself to molten lead like that?
