My point is that the main party trick of EVs is acceleration and one can acquire that same experience relatively cheaply with a Tesla (or Lucid Air or the upcoming Taycan Turbo GT). Obviously the rest of the vehicle attributes are incomparable with a $2M hypercar.

Who cares only for acceleration in a production. The reason most buy them is Cities like London charge 15 pounds a day for non EVs etc or your an eco freak who believes the lie its helping to say the world. or deluded this is the latest and greatest. EVs all in all are largely useless currently. Also compare to a lot of everyday ice cars (family, work etc) they are expensive. Like some of the older ice cars run on the smell of an oily rag who wants an EV with such limited range. In all fairness you cant really compare them

Doubt Bugatti will release a car that is not world wide homologated but we’ll learn more in June.

My guess is EU only and US show and display.

They have no active emergency brake which my country requires so I turned the offer down. Also, they can not just use VW group parts anymore like they used to do. This in turn will have a lot of issues for not only homologation but also quality control.

On the contrary, we can clearly see F250 has ADAS ready, so I am happy that F250 will be road legal in my country. All I have to do is to become TOP NOW!!! :(

I'll believe that when I see it and if that's the case I cant see the hp being much above 1400

1000hp+ from ICE and 800hp+ from the electric motors, we’ll learn more in June though

Cosworth is absolutely able to design a 8,3 l V16 NA producing more than 1000 Hp alone.
They already achieved this level of power with the 6,5l V12 from the Valkyrie..

With all the new regs I cant see how it will be road legal in most counties. 800hp from the hybrid and under 2 ton makes Ferrari's Hybrid among others like look like they are 20 years behind. The SF90 Model line is meant to be the new Flagship and the Hybrid is only a couple hundred hp. if this is the case if the F250 doesn't have 600 - 800hp from the hybrid then they have failed as a Hypercar maker

Huge hybridization will make it road legal in most countries I guess..

Émissions at low speed are key for European homologation for instance.
This is why Ferrari hybridized his new range of products first ( not only performance)

How can a 8L V16 have low Emissions ? and the more the Hybrid is used to reduce the emissions the more power that has to be stored to run it that equals more weight. 800hp hybrid is going to be very power hungry.

First kilometers on full electric is the key for homologations.
This is a cycle with average metrics I guess.

Koenisgegg has already made a hybrid component, “Dark Matter” as they call it, that can produce 800hp and 1,250 Nm in the Gemera, and the hybrid components in the Bugatti are from Rimac that produces the Nevera, the hybrid components in Regera and the Valkyrie.

SF90 and F250 are not comparable to Bugatti, in every aspect including cost of production and sale. It is like saying there is no way to produce 1600hp from a TT V8 (like the Jesko or the Venom F5) because the SF90’s TT V8 produces 769hp therefore that is the technical limit.

These cars are usually developed years before they are shown, as an example the work on the V16 started 4 years ago, therefore there is a lag in what is technically possible/state of the art and what the general public can see and buy at any given moment.

Edit: we’ll see what they’re capable of this June and I was told that there is a significant price increase from previous “standard” Bugattis and lower production volumes as well. Further pushing it away from cars like the F250, P1 v.2, and the Mission X.

The Koenisgeg get there high HP # with non pump gas. The Dark Matter is not even in production as they are still trying to sort the copy right / Patient to the technology so its really vaporware still. The Bugatti cost so much because they put a insanely massive engine in it to be the fastest and then had to spend massive on tech that could run and support it. It destroyed Bugatti in the process and took many many years to get right within a new parent company. I admire the engineering to get it to work but it doesn't make it special. just a car with a stupid crazy engine.

I really like the Koenisgeg models but they and Bugatti are not really making production cars or hypercars. They are just a small selection of one offs based on the same design. The fact is if a 8L V16 car can driver a coupe of KM on EV makes it road legal is just a sign of corruption to feed the desires of the mega rich.
