oh and the Rimac Nevera has even started producing the 150 planned unit so its vaporware currently. Anyone can make a concept or prototype but a fully working production unit/units in a customers hands is another thing.

“The seats are reportedly bolted onto the chassis to cut weight and boost rigidity“

    Laferrari had this in 2013.
Every car company copies Ferrari ideas, the problem is a decade later Ferrari is doing something completely different raising the bar once again while others are busy implementing ideas Ferrari had in the past.
The passenger display is present in plenty other supercars in 2024 for example also the steering wheel LEDs…

I feel like that’s a bit of an over generalization but yes, Ferrari is among the most innovative brands out there.

If Bugatti can actually deliver on this, then we need to admit that Ferrari may have got this one wrong.

Mate Rimac, who is a pioneer of EV automobiles, realizes that the engine is essential to the Bugatti experience. He could have easily developed an EV successor to the Chiron, but he did not. He could have easily downsized to a V8 but he did not. Ferrari should take notes.

This was the last chance to send off the V12 with a bang. One last Ferrari hypercar with a screaming V12, never to be forgotten. If Bugatti can do a V16, then Ferrari can find a way to do a V12. This will forever be a fairy tail of what could have been. Instead they stuck a V12 in an SUV and a tiny V6 in the hypercar.

I will withhold judgement until the final specs and reveal. But my initial prognosis is that Ferrari seems to have completely lost their way.

Ferrari always follows the racing developments. F1 and WEC Hypercars (most of them) have V6s, so there you go. Koenigsegg does a 3 cylinder...

Then why didn’t the LaF have a V8?

The F1 V8s were N/A anyway, so similar in ethos to the N/A V12. This isn 't strictly a cylinder count thing, more like a philosophy. Large high revving N/A engines with a bit of electric help back then, smaller turbocharged units with more electric power now. The road cars follow the racing ethos of each era. It was the same really with the F40 and F50.

Now that L.Hamilton will be part of the Ferrari family there will be more technological transfer between F1 department and road cars I think and of course more marketing, fashion and so on.

remember the AMG one was one of his « request »

the new Ferrari model Hamilton is not far away :D

They had zero electric help back then. Hybrid V12 vs unassisted V8. So the fact they’re both NA means they have a similar ethos? Methinks that’s a bit of a stretch.

It has nothing to do with Hamilton (he is just a driver) and the AMG One was not his request. The decision was taken in a meeting between Mercedes top brass.

Are you talking about the time that the LaFerrari was launched. Of course they had electric help in F1. It was called KERS, introduced in 2009.

High displacement, high revving, high compression ratio, N/A engines in a V configuration. They are basically the same thing, only in different sizes. As a matter of fact the F1 V8s were V10s with 2 cylinders chopped off (same V angle and cylinder displacement).

No need to argue over this. I am sure they will come up with something amazing. It will be beautiful to look at and it will go like hell. But even you have admitted your love for the Ferrari V12. This feels like this is a missed opportunity. Why not wait until the 2035 hypercar to downsize? They had one last chance at a V12 and they passed it up…

I’m pretty sure Ferrari will plot a brand new V12 generation in the near future.
2035 ban will never occurred in Europe.

In that respect, I really really hope the first electrified Ferrari will be a total failure ( I mean very few buyers).

Judging by how Purosangue was accepted, i doubt it will be failure. They will say
"it drives like a Ferrari" or
    "it feels like Ferrari" Or
    "looks like Ferrari"
    "it is Ferrari among EV"
    "the logical next step"
    and similar phrases.
And left many of us scratching our head.
