The muffler issue has to do with tuning carburetors. I have seen a Ferrari technical bulletin outlining different set ups for the GTO which were track specific.
It recommended side pipes for LeMans.

Mufflers produce more back pressure in the exhaust system which allows the air/gas mixture a little more time in the combustion chamber which produces torque. Torque is desirable on tight twisty circuits.

6023 also had at some point the red steering wheel ,don't know if it's still the case (see Cavalleria n°15). The easiest way to recognise both cars are the wiper spindles ,one for 6023 ,two for 6313 . Also the position of the Pininfarina badge , lower on 6023 .

Hmm I was at the 2009 and don't recall seeing a 250LM there.

Lowell R. Hedberg of La Grange, IL, owned 250 LM #5897 from October 1977 to 1987.
That LM was not at the 2009 FCA Annual in Elkhart Lake.

Al got 6025 from Samuel Brown and sold it to Allan Patterson.

My mistake. I was remembering 1979 and 1983. Probably 83 as that was the year Bodin brought Lucybelle.
