Well, I also do not know right now which direction I will go. I don't like Rosso Imola. I have ordered color samples (Speedshapes) of the following: Rosso Corsa, Rosso 70 anni, Rosso Maranello, Rosso Fuoco and Rosso Magma (concerning the reds, also Giallo Triplo Strato and Viola Hongkong). If you like I can post some photos under different light conditions and my thoughts, as soon as I get those.
if you want something with orange flake how about rosso fuoco: Image Unavailable, Please Login Or, with a little more of a mica look, magma: Image Unavailable, Please Login
That would really be appreciated if you can post pictures of the samples. Thank You Great idea as well from my end to order some
Those are really nice as well. I never looked into those options and was sticking to one of the original three I posted but those look very nice. Thank You
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Hello again, my samples arrived today. First and very important to tell: you cannot take photos in a reasonable "colorproof" way with an iPhone, these colors all look different in real life. Secondly, what I liked most, looks strange on the samples. So it doesn't make sense to post those images without telling you, how the colors look like in real life. From left to right Rosso Corsa, Rosso 70 anni, Rosso F1 2007, Rosso Maranello, Rosso Magma, Viola Hongkong, Rosso Fuoco (big), Giallo triplo strato (big). Rosso corsa looks dull an any light, in the shadows it is nice. Rosso 70 anni is surprisingly nice, intense, rich, in the shadows dark, powerfull in the light. Rosso F1 2007 - well, you recognize that it is shiny, but not that much of a difference in the dark, pretty orange under light. Rosso Maranello I would say is the most pretty one for a soft car like 296, it is shiny, powerfull in the sun, fine flakes, no orange at all. I kind of sophisticated I would say. Rosso Magma and Fuoco aren't that much diferent in the shadow, Fuoco tends to be more orange. My (very subjective) personal impression is with all these ¾ layer reds, that they are "effect colors". And I don't know if this is nice to the car. For sure it will look impressive first, but when it is really sunny its a Show off issue. Opticaly loud. Viola Hongkong is great, but it needs a lot of light/sun, so for where I live (Germany) it will look almost black most of the times I drive the car. So for south of europe, California, Australia and so on it is a unbelievable color. Giallo triplo strato I like very much because it is not so loud as the metallic reds but looks a little pearlescent. So after the first 30 minutes I would say my favourites are: Rosso 70 anni, Giallo triplo strato and Rosso Maranello. I have to charge the batteries for my Olympus OMD, so I will do another photo session will a decent cam an hope, that colors look more like they are. Oh, if you want to know what disappointed me ? Rosso F1 2007, 25.000€ and it is not that nice. I guess that Fuoco and magma will fit bigger cars with a "sharper surface" more because these colors need edges to break light. That explains why the few videos I saw with a 296 in R. magma disappointed me. There is one from Carwow, it is hard to tell that this is Rosso Magma () ..... So what do you think ?
I do not know if it is the lighting in those pics but the 3rd one from the left Rosso F1 2007? Stands out the best on my screen and of course Giallo triplo strato.
Yes, you are right, it is Rosso F1 2007. But I will take some more shots with my "real" cam on the weekend, becaue if it would have been brighter light, F1 will be quite orange - so you have to like it. But with brighter light the none metallic reds look weird. Lets hope we have some real sunlight, this will be best for taking photos
Orange is probably why I like it. I almost went with Rosso Dino on mine but ended up with Scuderia. The subtle orange looks so good, especially in person. I am not a big deep dark red or maroon fan. Corsa is the only dark red I would go and thats because its classic, and its not really that dark of a color. So many of the deep reds remind me of Minivan color choices.
I am a fan of yours I totally agree with you, the funky metallic reds look amazing, no question at all, and I would have a big issue which to choose if it was for a McLaren or Lambo, but they are in somehow not the right choice (for me !!!) for a 296. As I have written elsewhere, the 296 is a difficult car for colors, some do not fit in my opinion, like Giallo modena, it looks boring. The Rosso Magma/Fuoco section remind me of a Mazda Minivan, too, and I don't want to be disrespectfull to anybody here, it is just my personal taste. So if you go flat, you should consider Rosso 70 anni, it is really really nice and rich, especially with more light where R. Corsa gets very flat, Rosso F1 2007 is for somebody who likes orange a great choice. I am biased, I had McLarans and one was orange. Crazy color, but I associate orange with McL, so I wouldn't for Ferrari - but still thats personal taste. I post my old McL 570S which was orange. In brightest sunlight Rosso F1 will get spots looking similar (but not the whole car) but the darker it gets outside, the more it looks like Rosso corsa !! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I changed to Rosso Maranello on mine. Remember what you like about it will be exaggerated on the entire car and same with dislikes. I love it. It’s a stunning color especially in the sun. Like you said, beautiful yet sophisticated.
Great photo story, thanks for posting. Most people are afraid of Giallo, but that Triplo-Strato is the bomb in sunlight. It does have a pearlescent look. My incoming 296 will be my 3rd Giallo Triplo-Strato car. Do whatever grabs you so that every time you walk up to the car, you can’t help but smile.
No. But it was that day I decided to buy mine... I just posted the pix because I did think it was a nice pix (of a triple giallo strato paint) I took while on the track at Varano.
Great, R. Maranello is the only metallic red I would vote for, the others are too loud, but Maranello is outstandig. The 296 is a soft and round car, I guess it would fit. My selection narrows itself to Rosso 70 anni, R. maranello and Giallo triplo strato. With viola I did not have enough sun the last few days, I would like to see it at least in bright sunlight before I vote for something else. When do you expect your car in Rosso Maranello ? Would you share some pictures ?
I buy and order all my cars orange if possible. 570s Ventura Orange, 720s peformance in papyra spark, and gt500 twister orange. The primary reason I didnt go with Dino is my spec was already 448k+ and I had my eye on rosso scuderia for awhile. I love orange but I would put Rosso Scuderia as one of my favorite colors of all time. Giallo Triplo Strato - you have to see in person. You can go wrong with this choice either. I drove one at the Ferraro Event. It is amazing.
Just for the pleasure of the eyes: walkaround (exterior, interior), no talk/no comments (just background music)
