I don't think he's near as bad Binotto, but he clearly isn't on the level of Newey. The only person that could build a car as good or better than Newey recently was Aldo Costa, and since he stepped down from Mercedes they've had nothing but problems.
If the remainder of the season is anything like this race, we're in for a real treat. Just thrilling!
Ferrari took a step forward, but so did Red Bull. It's not just the car either, as Max is absurdly faster than Perez at this point. I'd say that Ferrari look to be the most together team right now outside of Red Bull in terms of management, development, and yes, strategy. Sainz was awesome today and Leclerc did well to recover from his issues. No shame in coming in 3rd and 4th and being there in case something happens to Max. Mercedes seem to be a clusterF. Obviously my impression of their cars balance was incorrect. McLaren didn't live up their hype either.
Just hear Charles on French television. Brakes problems for the whole race. He raced with an unbalanced brake repartition to finish the race. He’s very disappointed because without this problem he would have finished a lot closer to Max. ( his words)
Redbull, Max as expected. Honestly if this keeps up, I won't even consider them as part of the race anymore. 2nd should be considered 1st from now on. Horner definitely not himself in that interview, seems very timid.
Not depressing for them. They have reached and ever overtaken the efficiency and reliability Mercedes had. All credit to them !
Literally. I was bored but appreciate the effort to create such a machine. Synchronized with Max this car is. Carlos must be joking with this post race statement: Sainz: "Pleasant surprise" to keep up with Red Bulls in Bahrain F1 GP Ferrari Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz reckons it was a “pleasant surprise” to be able to keep up with the leading Red Bulls during the 2024 season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
Liberty needs to be ready for a major fan disengagement movement lol. DTS is down 30% on episode 1 so far for the new series.
Of course this is absolutely remarkable. Prost said at the French television that when he was on the grid before the race he was absolutely amazed by the level of finish on this RB20. Again William I’m only talking as a tifoso.
The most exciting thing about this weekend was the Hornyer evidence drop. Season dead. Viewing figures will plummet this year. Utter snore fest - in fact I did just that and passed out around lap 20. Well done Carlos! Ferraris sacked number 1 driver delivers again. I hope he gets a good car for next year. He deserves it. In fact, he would make a good Perez replacement.
Ferrari was criticized for having a generic car at launch. Long season, but they are #2 for now and #3 and #4 in the drivers championship. There is going to be a lot of second guessing about Hamilton for another week.
