I don't believe Max needs a team-mate that can push him.....he's just that fast irregardless.

Yes he is fast, many past champions are fast. He maybe lucky enough in his career to not ever get a top shelf team mate.

    indeed.

Yet proper members get banned for accidentally reacting to the utter twaddle he posts. Even in the most inoffensive ways sees a ban now.

Mods still don't know what trolling is, despite their rules banning it, lol.

How was my post trolling? I can't make a comment on a driver? I've seen many post of others commenting on drivers. Some drivers have their own thread. Or do you call it trolling because its a post you don't like? In the next 5 seconds some one's gonna post something about Sir Lewis Hamilton or Stroll. Will you jump in and call them trolling?

What worries me is the future.
With so many places trying to ban all but electric vehicles, the future can only go one of two ways:
    1. Formula E -- If you think F1 is boring, ...
    2. F1 shows that performance cars can run clean.
Not sure the second option would be successful, as F1 has already gone down the "hybrid" rabbit hole.

But an efficient burn of octane produces only CO2 and H2O.
I've seen it on older Alfas, that, properly tuned, passed the emissions standards for new cars right up until the state ruled the car too old to test --- without a catalytic converter.

But the future may be Segway racing --- or just virtual racing.

    Ummm, Biofuels?

Vettel ran his FW14B on biofuels 3 years ago on an F1 track. That's a NA V10 with ZERO emissions out of the tailpipe. WALLA!!

I can’t imagine any reality where Verstappen loses to 2016 Nico Rosberg. Just saying…

Senna and Schumacher, yes(and I am a huge Gilles fan). Lewis without a dominant Mercedes, not in the same class.

BTW Martin Brundle made a great comment during the broadcast yesterday. I think that Croftie remarked that it was the tenth anniversary of the hybrid formula. Martin said that it was the biggest blunder in the history of F1.

The only drives that come close to Max is Charles and Lando. The Redbull is not as dominate as the Mercedes was. Bottas was always fighting Lewis for wins. I rate Bottas as good as Perez. I think there were one or two times where Lewis had a 10 second plus lead, but nothing like what Max gap has been to the rest of the field.

    Agree,
And 2014 cars were absolutely hideous on top of that with their noses and ridiculous rear wings.
Good example of how ideology could annihilate beautiful things.
Same right now with EV in Europe..

I dont think a one year turnaround would be possible, it would take at least 2-3 years in my opinion.

Remember, Newey wasnt that successful during the Merc or Ferrari domination?

    Have you? Also no.

    Has the FIA? Yes.
Have they said: "Hold on, this is an identical copy, how is that possible because that's not a shared part, what's going on here?" No.

Also look where the RBR finished vs the VCARB.

Engines are equal now though. Newey was the only challenger during the Benetton/Ferrari Schumacher years. And not just challenger, builder of world beater cars as well. During the Merc domination, the RB chassis/aero was every bit as good as the Merc, but the engine was significantly down on power. WAY down. With all the will in the world you're not over coming the power deficit for an actual season challenge, at best a race here or there.

The current RB is vastly different from last year. That's a 1 year turn around, so to say.

The margin over last year is the eye watering butt kicking stat that the paddock is really impressed with lol.

    Hi Paddock!

--Verstappen was just shy of 30s clear of Perez at the end of lap 17, eventually making his own switch to the hard tyre. Now level pegging on pitlane visits, the gap between them was about 6s, but this was only going to swell as Verstappen set some vastly impressive laps on the C1 compound and put Perez in the shade. In the first half of that stint, the three-time champion could be anywhere between 0.8s to one second a lap faster than his team-mate, suggesting a mastery of the RB20 despite limited time with his new steed. It’s more of a chasm than a gap, and that’s against a driver in the same car.--

Your assuming Ferrari dont screw up even if Newey was there!!

Dont be to sure that engines are equal, That Honda puts out some serious power and is bullet proof.
