https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2007-ferrari-599-gtb-fiorano-41/ I know NGS sold this car on bat and it has been a total mess for the buyer, I saw it the shop that serviced my 458 before I sold it, it was there for months apparently with multiple issues , I don’t think they had to do with the conversion itself but other things that weren’t disclosed, the mechanic wouldn’t divulge much info to me when I asked directly but it was obvious the car needed a lot of work.
That was Dan's personal car and I think it took 3 years to convert it? I know in my case with my car, he gets a lot of things wrong when describing it. Whether that was intentional or just salesman hype, I'm not sure but what he got wrong is not because it was misrepresented to him, he just seemed to be making things up. Two examples - 1. He claims my car had a sports exhaust. Clearly it didn't and you can see it didn't based on the silencer. 2. New bands in the top- He claimed I had new bands put in the convertible top. No, I never replaced those bands and as far as I knew, they were original but I never made any claim on the bands or even discussed the bands with him. One of the items I did discuss with him prior to the sale, was the disabled e-diff. He KNEW the e-diff was crippled after the conversion but didn't disclose that in his video. The disabled e-diff may not have been material to the sell of the car, because by the time the video came out, the car had already been sold. In fact, I think he had the car sold before it even landed in TX. He asked me to send him extensive pictures and video of the car a week before shipping, more than I initially sent him when he made the contractually binding offer. I'm speculating he asked me to do that to forward them to his buyer. What he didn't show in the video was I had all the accessory options in the frunk of the car, all in pristine condition, even the flashlight which is hard to come by these days. Dan was advised to check with Art on the shape of the car and I think what Art told him sold Dan on buying it, with very little in terms of visual pictures, just the basic stuff. The end buyer got a great car, other than the crippled e-diff. It was owned previously by one of the most famed Ferrari collectors before me. No service had ever been skipped on that car. But, when I saw how Dan embellished the car on the video....let's just say it was awkward. However, if the buyer is reading this, they should know that during my ownership, I had things replaced that didn't even need to be replaced. I did that because it was an opportune time to put brand new parts in the car once the transmission was dropped. It was a spectacular specimen of a F430, it just didn't have some of the things Dan mentioned in the video (new top bands and sport exhaust, though it did have a brand new set of headers and blankets we put on during the conversion) and the e-diff was crippled. I think this was a case of just salesman embellishment with a dash of "not full disclosure" in regards to the e-diff.
What in the **** is up with trophy points anyway? We all want 'em We all got 'em What do we do with 'em? (in a nod to Jimmy Buffet...you either know or you don't)
This thread just never fails to provide more and more interpersonal drama. In my opinion the mods have had ataken to a very light hand in dealing with personal attacks. Interesting but of no concern to me.
Never said that, just have been some interesting things said, that in a lot of other cases would have resulted in bans. And like I said, no concern of mine.
there is probably more allowance when it is a vs. he said/she said situation. no one is crying foul, so a mutually agreed fight.
Definitely- i have absolutely no problem being called fat by another male adult. It has made for a ton of humor with a bunch of car friends who have now come up with a specific meme to reference the episode!
Actually I was thinking of some of your comments and also posting a PM in the open as some of the violations that have been ignored...among others.
I don’t mind making it public, it was the publishing of the PMs, which I thought was considered a major issue . A mod gave a warning not to do it again, but no punishment given that I remember.
