Darren - maybe we shouldn't be too hasty in moving 1331GT into Recreations? It appears certain that engine 1331 is in the TR replica. But see posts 1082 and 1083 (also 1044) in this thread - the engine/tran were separated from the car before those posts showing a very viable chassis/body. The BaT ad only says "The block is stamped with number 1331, which is also utilized as the re-creation’s chassis number."

It looks like the PF Coupe 1331GT could still be out there as a PF Coupe, just without its engine/tran and brakes. I am pretty sure that if GTO Engineering had the chassis, or used any part of it, they would have said so? That said, the front crossmember stamping in pics 340-342 of the BAT ad looks legit.

I don't think red, or solid bright colors do the 250GT pf any favors. Although I've liked some photos I've seen of black, dark blue or white, the subtle lines of these cars seem particularly well suited for greyish metallic shades. Just an opinion.

Yes fair point. As and when Chassis 1331GT reappears in one form or another I will certainly add it back in. For now it seems the engine is locatable (in the BAT TR)....the chassis is, I hope, someones work in progress.

But yes good shout and I will keep an eye out.....

Bryan, I would bet that 1331GT today looks nothing like it appears in the 2011 posts of this thread you referenced. You can certainly spot the 1331GT chassis in the BaT ad. The TR is a pretty accurate representation, so I'd imagine GTO/E's bins still contain some bits of what's left of 1331GT.

I saw posts on Instagram regarding a PF Coupe which was awarded Best in Class at Amelia Island.
Does anyone here have photos or more information on the car?

Do you mean this car :

    https://entrant.hagerty.com/entries/public/ADMAMwA5ADQ=

If so its quoted as 1747GT

A few additional photos in the Registry here :

    https://www.ferrari250registry.com/portfolio-collections/series-2-1499gt-2081gt/1747gt

So nice to see a car thats wearing the life its lived. Can't vouch for this statement below but it reads nicely !

"For more than 60 years and five owners, the car has been sympathetically and mechanically sorted without altering the original Grigio Scuro lacquer paint, interior, or other preserved finishes. It has subsequently been driven on 1000-mile events and used as a reference car for 250-series originality."

Hey John - I hope you are well! The BaT ad says "Completed for its current owner in 2015, the car is reportedly based on a custom-fabricated chassis and features aluminum coachwork replicating that of a Scaglietti-designed 1958 pontoon-fender 250 Testa Rossa." So it appears that GTO did not use the chassis; you're thinking that they bought it just to incorporate the front crossmember stamping? Could be . . . What a shame; the 2011 pics show a VERY viable chassis/body.

Hi Bryan, good point, so even if you tried to revive the real 1331GT today your chassis number is usurped. It's a sad outcome for a PF coupe who in 2011 wasn't that far away from its original form.

Now listed in the Ephemera section ....assuming they were shipped with 250 series and not from Daytona onwards (as might be the case) :)

Took my car out for the first time 2024 last evening. A bit cool here in NE USA but low traffic and good pre-leaf visibilty on the roads made it a pleasure.

    Two questions:

    1. Does anyone have/use a functional radiator blind to help raise temps more quickly in cool weather? The mechanism on my car is intact, but not connected back to the control knob under the steering column. Wondering if it would be worthwhile to try to bring it back to a driver operated functional state.

    2. Did series 1 250pf's have any sort of turn signal reset, or were they always dependent on the driver turning them off. I recall Tom Yang posting a clip for the steering column he fabricated for what I think was a 250 GTE to automatically reset the turn signal. It had the impression that this was a stock item that he needed to be fixed. Were the 250pf cars equipped with such an item?
