The V16 Bugatti will debut in June, as confirmed by Bugatti’s press release. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Prototype tooling has been received by Bugatti as stated by their design boss a couple of months ago but public testing of prototypes is said to occur after the design is revealed in June. Though it might have occurred in Nardo/VW testing facilities where no photography is allowed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Respectfully, beg to differ. Elkann is a through and through petrolhaead, as is of course Piero, regardless of all the doom saying in here. I mean that Fchat is nagging about everything new and then they revere (and purchase) all that Maranello produces. Of course Ferrari has to keep up with modern times and that means hybridisation and eventually electrification (up to a certain percentage of the line up), like every other manufacturer. Personally, I don 't mind electric motors, as long as there is an ICE in the mix; if anything they add to the performance/experience mix, they don 't detract - case in point the iconic LaFerrari and the newer cars (SF90 Stradale and 296). Even if we take the new Bugatti into consideration, the electrification (meaning hybridisation) will surely make it a better car than the blunt instruments that the company have been producing till now. Regarding the V12, Ferrari's brass have been adamant that it will be maintained as long as possible and it would be a fool's errand to try to erase its illustrious history. It might be relegated to the Iconas though, for better or for worse... Finally, regarding your Apple references, Vigna might hail from the electronics industry (not from Apple though), but if you hear/read any of his interviews you will discern a petrolhead in there. He even postulated that he will advocate for the legendary V12 as vigorously as he can.
….As the song says … Oh so quiet …..….. There seems to have been 10 days of Radio Silence - does that mean speculation has stopped or nothing new to add ?? Either way I’m hoping for fresh ( Hybrid - lol) fuel to feed my fire/desire for info/speculation on the F250…… anyone help … pleeeeeez..
God please v8 or more cylinder… But it will be most likely v6 right? Hope that thing sings at 13000rpm lol Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I think you need to begin by asking what is Ferrari’s mission with the super/hyper car. It’s always been a statement of what it is possible to do with a road car in terms of racing technology transfer. That is part 1. But Part 2, in Ferrari’s case, it also means bringing a sense of occasion, romance, drama, beauty, passion, intrigue and fascination. In the past this one car had to do all of this. And for a long time, the power proposition was simple: more cylinders= more power. But this has not been the case with racing cars for some time, and its taken some years, but now we see street cars have embraced forced induction and e-assistance, and in some cases, they skip the ICE all together in favor of EV. All of these technologies can generate more power, but come with trade offs, almost all affecting what I called Part 2 above. The romance, and fascination of the experience. Of course I mean in terms of sound, visceral feelings, and even styling. I think you can see this in both the Enzo and, especially the LaFerrari- they are trying to carry both the performance and the romance, sometimes in almost equal measure. But the world has changed and things are more and more specialized. So, my own view on this is Ferrari has decided to split these two parts of the equation into two distinctive models. One is the Icona, which is still giving us legitimate racing technology transfer, but is much more focused on the romance and beautiful styling. And I guess we will see soon about the hypercar, but, based on the discussion and the purported spy photos, it seems they are going for something relatively extreme in terms of performance. As I would imagine they really should do. If I am correct in how I understand this- then it makes perfect sense they would not use the V12 NA for this car. It’s no longer the performance king. My own opinion is it’s still the king of ICE for a street car- and I love it.I love the sound, the low burble that gets higher and more and more mechanical as you rev, the way the power keeps building, so linear and progressive, and controllable, yet also with so much urgency that it boarders on frightening, the sense that gets imparted that you can feel each and every extra RPM, yet its so fast and free revving.. I could go on… but the world changes and the time is now for these other engine/power/ technologies. I would expect Ferrari will make the new car beautiful and romantic in its own way, but I think this time they can really push for maximum performance. Forza Ferrari!! The world changes and for what ? Even Newey decided to swap a V8tt ( initially planned) for a high revving V10 to power his track car, the RB17. Ideology won’t change what is beautiful and emotional. Better for Ferrari to prepare a brand new V12 NA generation..
F250 spec is fixed long before. Now the rule changed and EU is backing off from nonsense so the game is on again until at least 2030. Next Icona should be something special with V12. My only worry is they don’t have anything to build upon than LaFerrari chassis if they go to Mid engine layout. And it has been used already with SP3. SP4 could be FR and then we have to wait another years for V12 MR and then suddenly the year is 2035 and every V12 is dead Oh I forgot. I might be too old to have driver permit to drive on the road along with robot cars anyway… Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Yeah but too expensive Also they will make special version of special sport version of super sport version of homage version of mysterious old Bugatti to screw up the original owners lol Winkelman virus hehe Ferrari never does this. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
