Hi everyone! I'd like a little help from you guys if possible. My concern is that my first spec was with Rosso Fuoco and Blue Santorini alcantara for the seats (i want to recreate the 60's prototype combo). Now i'm seeing that Rosso Fuoco has a very orange shade under specific conditions and problem is, i hate orange. Rosso Fuoco is very nice but i can't stand that orange shade, is there a similar color but without orange shade? How about Rosso Coburn, Maranello, Magma. Is there anything else? HALP PLEASE PS: What about changing everything and going for a silver/light-blue ext on Dark red int. ? Thank you very much in advance Cheers!
Also Rosso TRS which is like Corsa metallizzato. magma is closest to Fuoco and also amazing. Coburn is more of a ruby red. Same for maranello, almost like garnet color. Silvery light blue would be Grigio alloy. Looks great with almost any interior including Bordeaux or “Ferrari” vivid red.
Thank you very much! I'm also looking at some BMW's colours, like the one used on the 00' M5. A sort of silvery/very light purpleish blue, some strange colour tbh but on the 296 GTS could work well and emphasize its classic lines. Would work on a dark blu int. Ruby red is the colour i was searching for in the first place. The dealer suggested me to go with Fuoco and the sample didn't showed any orange shade strangely, was pretty deep too. I took a closer look at Rosso Coburn now on google and i have to say it's amazing, maybe the best Rosso i've seen till now
Might be a bit plain if put on the 296 GTS, that car is already sleek with very few lines, a delicate colour like this might not show its true potential Man i have to say you are helping me out here a lot! Thank you!!!
Grigio alloy is one of my longtime favorites, it was a 360 Spider launch color. I’ve thought it would really pop with a satin PPF wrap. There’s also aluminio which is a warmer silver, here’s the matte version: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah i know! When the 360 Modena came out i was still a little boy but i always went for that color when choosing in Need For Speed , it was just amazing. That’s why i wanted to figure it out how it might play on the 296, but i’m dubious it might lose its potential on a sleek car like the 296
How about Rosso Portofino? I‘ve got it on my Portofino M and love it. I imagine it would just look as amazing on the 296 GTS.
Congrats!!! Answer? - what (you) like, not us. Don't go by the swaths at the dealership, make sure you see them *in person.* - go with what your soul tells you. Ignore us. (yeah yeah, for the pedantic "This statement is lie")
Hard to judge them from pics. Does your dealer have a paint swatch box with about 90 colors? Most are in there. I've had Maranello, Fuoco, and Magma. If you are doing a simple design and no AF pack, I think Maranello would look extra special. It's similar to the Mazda Soul Red. Fuoco is a little more fiery, for lack of a better term. Not a lot of orange IRL. Magma has some orange too, but is more vibrant and has elements of both Maranello and Fuoco.
all those are nice. interior will be a challenge. lots of good choices. if sunburst orange in paint, consider a pumpkin color interior with accents. recommend against daytona style seat inserts.
Maranello or magma imho. Both amazing. Maranello was my choice bc it’s a Ferrari color and magma is a maserati color.
That’s why we went fuoco on the Pista, since it was a Ferrari color…magma has been properly appropriated for Ferrari now[emoji23]
I had Coburn as a stripe on my Pista. In direct sunlight it was amazing but in any other lighting conditions is looked a little dull to me. For that reason I probably wouldn’t go with it again. Some pics to show how it changes in the light… Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
FWIW, I chose Rosso Imola - the launch color. Is there a particular reason that color is not on your choice list? Just wondering because I love the launch color.
I have Rossa Imola on my 296 GTS and like it, while also have several cars with Rossa Magma Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Hi, I went through exactly what you are going through and landed on Rosso Magma over Nero with some red hi lights on the seats and the insert just around the instruments , I have done full carbon on the exterior and gloss black wheels . Should know the production date in the next couple of weeks, I expect the cat Q3 or Q4.
I have a Rosso Magma 296GTS. Absolutely love the colour. I has a lot less orange tinge than Fuoco and Imola, but there's still hints of it under certain light conditions. Many people have described my colour similar to a "toffee apple" or "candied cherry". I'll post pics of it here under different light conditions if you'd like. Otherwise, I've post a few pics in the 296GTS picture thread. If you want zero orange tinge and 3 layer metallic paint then Rosso Marranello is it. That was going to be my 2nd choice. If you want a bit darker metallic red then Portofino or Fiorano? Here is my 296GTS Rosso Magma next to my 812GTS Rosso Fiorano Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd have two views on this: 1. You are concerned about resale values - in which case I'd ask my dealer what combination of colours and extras (carbon etc.) work best in the resale market. Nothing wrong with this approach. 2. You want the car of your dreams - in which case, we can't help you. You have to go with what pleases you. I see a lot of combinations of cars here that I think are great, awful, boring etc but they are what their owners want and that's a good thing regardless of what I, or others, think. I do Tailor Made for my cars because I want what I want - I've learnt a bit along the way from mistakes I've made but in general I've been very happy with what I've got. Does everyone like what I've done - probably not. Will I get anywhere close to the money I paid - probably not. Did I just want a car I could resell easily - no. Good luck with whatever route suits you and I hope you end up enjoying whatever you choose.
