The consistency point is so overused, every driver can become "consistent" when they drive miles ahead of any other car. First half of 2022 showed that Leclerc can dominate races as much as Verstappen if just given the car. Maybe the obvious example being Austria; Ferrari got their race set up way better than RB and Leclerc was basically able to toy with Verstappen the whole race (he passed Max on track like 3 times?); ofcourse even that race win almost came undone when the red cars clutch decided to sign off for the last 5ish laps. People say that maybe Leclerc could have done something more on those dnf's; NO HE COULD HAVE NOT, the Ferrari car kept literally falling apart in his hands in 2022. He made literally only 2 mistakes and got absolutely crusified for them; all the while his engine/turbo kept exploding all over the circuits and the clowns at the pit wall decided to donate wins that he should have gotten to others (Monaco, Silverstone).
+1 I think that Charles would thrive at a team like Mercedes. He doesn't have complete confidence in his team--with good reason.
I'm pretty sure he'll be done with the team when he sees they will be giving LH priority. I don't quite understand the purpose of announcing this a year away. It's an easy bet Sainz already has one foot out the door, and no doubt Leclerc has to be wondering what Ferrari are thinking. If there ever was a way to set yourself up for sub optimal results, this is it. 2024 season hasn't started and Ferrari have already binned it. More shocking than signing a 40 y/o driver is paying $100MM to do it. They should be getting LH at a discount, not a vast premium.
Elkann pursued LH and was more than happy to offer the money and long term Ambassadorial status that Mercedes refused. Again the interesting question is what was Elkann's objectives in pursuing LH overall, his 'rationale'. We will never hear the truth but this was not at all the first attempt to sign LH. Ferrari 'fans' might want to remember that. This is a culmination of multiple approaches by the team and LH himself if pursuing this situation.

I don't think that's true, is it? My understanding was that being a driver gave them access, but they had to pay. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
2 more years….possibly lol Leclerc: "A matter of time" before Ferrari puts Red Bull under pressure in F1 Charles Leclerc believes it's "a matter of time" before Ferrari can start putting Red Bull under pressure in Formula 1.
As of today, Red Bull gets more pressure from their internal soap opera than from Ferrari - whose drivers are not even able to challenge Red Bull's number 2.
+1 Ferrari, its drivers etc need to just drive, get results and develop as they can given limits on funds. Nothing else. In pure pace, it would appear Max is not close to driving at full absolute power so far. Thats not a nice thing for the season lol.
Max needs to keep cool and take his distance from the infighting. Hopefully, the technical and operational side of Red Bull will not get too affected by the managerial tug of war.
