he can join DC and Webber as Red Bull ambassadors. let him do some exhibition drives here and there put Lawson in his seat after Melbourne
Yep. No idea why any team would consider DR for a seat. He’s well passed it and should probably retire. His time has passed.
It kills me to say you’re right. A shame, as I like the man so much, and rooting for him. But when mediocre Yuki is waxing the floor with him…time to give the seat to someone that hasn’t lost their mojo. I said this 2 years ago, it pains me to be proven right,
He can take comfort that he has been compensated far beyond his talent….or at least his results. Not that there aren’t many others in that category.
I don't think he's going to make it. He was awesome as the last of the late brakers when the cars were light - but as they've grown in both size and weight to accommodate the hybrid systems and energy recovery has become a factor in brake feel, it seems like the formula no longer suits his driving style. All the best, Andrew.
I used to root for Ricciardo when he was at Red Bull, alongside Verstappen. He looked more mature than Max who was like a bull in a china shop then. I was disappointed when Ric joined Renault, of all teams ! What a choice !! His time at McLaren was not famous bar one lucky win, and he left the tail between his legs. He came back under the Red Bull umbrella, thanks to Horner. Now Tsunoda is faster than him. Max has been improving all these years, Ric declining. How the mighty has fallen !!!
Yup, and as @Jack-the-lad pointed out - those millions of dollars can provide solace to even the most melancholy of drivers. Me? I would try to poach and offer Bearman a contract now. Give Yuki some real pressure.
F1 on Facebook... https://www.facebook.com/share/7UWs64ygK7EaEn5U/?mibextid=oFDknk Image Unavailable, Please Login If that's based on anything and not just a flight of fancy, that's not looking good for either Perez or Ricciardo. All the best, Andrew.
Tsunoda isn’t convincing me either. 12 years old mindset and maturity. Bring back some adults to drive such cars!
I agree. I have no clue honestly, how did he even last so long. There's almost no race that was iconic or memorable from him. 90% of the time it's him screaming vulgarities at his engineer.
Fire Yuki not Daniel yet. Park Lawson in the seat. Daniel knows F1/RedBull etc and can help Lawson get settled sorted for 1 season and move Ricci along and put Perez there next year.
I don't know what happened to DR? This is a driver who was in contention for wins--denied a second win at Monaco(it would have been his first) by his team's incompetence. He seems broken.
I don't know? Unfortunately, my wife and I can't wait for his audio each race. The most exciting part of the race typically....
It's a mental thing as you mentioned. I read many articles, and even some direct quotes from Mika. He always seem to say, someone like Schumi has enormous mental strength. I recall his interview i read somewhere. He said after his back to back WDCs, he's been completely burnt out mentally, and he has no clue how Michael can do 5 in a row. Interestingly, it's not always about physical, but also mental strength. It's the same case as Vettel. he's not the same driver after that fateful Hockenheim race.
