Presumably the lexan windows still have to electrically drop to break the seal on the door every time you open the door?
No. They are fixed and don't seal that great. These were graciously offered to me by Randy about 6 months ago, and that was one of many reasons I did not get them. No point in me buying them so they sit in a box in my attic forever. Super cool, but I know I would have just never installed them, so I painfully declined over time. So awesome you purchased them. Randy is a great person and always willing to share information and his experiences with his car. Glad someone got them who will actually enjoy them! Enjoy!
Thank you! And I agree, Randy was gracious to me as well and great to deal with! I beg to differ on them not being sealed great. I had them professionally installed due to my own time constraints and the driving season fast approaching here in NJ. All in, it was an 8hr job. Driver's side was a tad more work than the passenger's side. Getting them to fit/seal to spec was hard but def achievable. The crew at Exotics-USA was overall happy with the end result. I took it for a drive yesterday and can now say so am I. I was thinking of doing this all the ways back from 2016ish. Long road to get here. Bottom line, this change makes the CS now a bit of a unicorn lol. For next winter's project, I will do an interior restoration/detailing, as well as, a roll bar + harness add ons.
Power windows almost always become out of adjustment and leak wind noise and rain , CS Lexan glass remain sealed & lot less can go wrong. Pretty sure I am the only ONE WOULD in USA knows that first hand. Only available in Europe. Funny reading thoughts from people who have never or will ever see a set in person.
Nice. I would love to add the factory rollbar too! Not the harnesses, but the bar is one factory option I do want to add for sure. Such a pain to do. It's a real shame they didn't just have the places where it bolts to on the roll bar cars on all of the cars. Oh well.
