Well, how about this result, Ferrari P1 and 2 with Mr. Sainz on top of the table (Fred, Fred, Fred cheer the crowd in Maranello) . Max's team sabotaged his car (maybe) and he did a DNF. Powered by Honda stuck with P5, 8 and 12.
Excellent drive from Sainz. He outraced Leclerc on pure pace today, and showed the haters once again that they're idiots. We all questioned whether Ferrari's race pace sims on Friday could possibly be real, and it turns it, indeed it was. The team clearly have found something with the new car and the rear wing might've been what opened up a large operating window. IMHO, I think Sainz would've had the edge over Max anyways. Red Bull just didn't have good pace the whole weekend. Lets see if this is a sign of things to come.
Could someone please explain to me why the hell Ferrari are letting Carlos go for Lewis?? That has got to be the dumbest thing they’ve ever done!
Amazing drive by Carlos. Awesome!!!! Looked like Alonso may have slowed more than usual, catching George off guard and locking up just enough to get crossed up.
If Sainz continues to perform like this, Ferrari would be fools to not do whatever is necessary to back out of their contract with Hamilton and keep Sainz.
Hamilton is the world's most popular driver. He's a marketing juggernaut, and Ferrari is pushing hard to expand their brand beyond the car. Besides, if Ferrari can finally provide a good car (and it looks like they may have), then Hamilton will do well at the Scuderia.
I'm an Alonso fan from back in the Renault days, and from where I sit, that was a clear brake-check from Alonso on Russel. Unacceptable and he should be banned from the next race.
It probably has more from the Sainz camp than the Ferrari side at this stage. Would you stay with a team that wants to toss you out after you've been winning for them?
