Carlos for the win and P2 for Charles - Ferrari 1 and 2! A maximum effort and result.

Was hoping the race would be clean with Max and Ferrari. Who was really fastest but Max car had other braking ideas!

Felt Piastri should have finished higher but his timing and tires forced the position swap.

Russell chasing Alonso was interesting in the fact that FA appeared to slow some in the corner before George lost control. Mistake or induced by FA who knows.
The incident was a bit disturbing and with George vulnerable in the car Im surprised no Red Flag but it appeared a situation was manageable.

Not a good weekend for Mercedes. Not sure who would want to actually be in the seat with George next year.

RedBull should get Carlos. Perez being 5th and self induced overall.

Without a doubt teams will be offering Sainz seats next year. He is a fantastic F1 driver.!!!!!!!

Yes saw that. Ruined a good challenge with Ferrari vs RedBull. Was full of hope we would have some sort of real race at the front given the tyre wear evident.

Fully deserved. Saw the replay soon after and was wondering if a penalty was in order. Sorry FA but thats over the line. Good job by the Stewards. Thanks for posting this. Watched the full replay of the race. Slept a bit more today lol :)

Did Alonso brake test Russell? Crash lap telemetry vs Previous lap

What a wonderful yet crappy day. Had the race recorded to watch this morning. Groggily got up, poured coffee and out of habit sat down at my computer...and what's the first thing I see? Of course. Watched the highlights, pissed off I didn't get to see the glory of Max and L-Ew-is blow up and Ferrari take 1-2

I am not convinced Alonso did anything wrong.

Congratulations to Carlos, always the better driver of the two compared with Chuckles. Wish they were keeping him next year to partner Lewis.

    This is the smoking gun.
Whatever issues FA may have had with battery or throttle, they can't explain him hitting the brakes far earlier than normal which slowed him from ~280kph to 250:

Then hitting them again at the usual point (which pretty much wasn't even necessary), resulting in a ~35kph slower turn-in speed than other laps:
    Image Unavailable, Please Login

And his post-race response is almost comical “So, yeah, definitely I was struggling a little bit at the end of the race, but I cannot focus on the cars behind. He’s okay. I saw the car and I was very worried.”

Since when can't FA focus on cars behind? lol
Since George is okay it's no big deal right?

    Penalty is, if anything, light.

What would the great FA say if reversed. Verbose and loud complaining would be the order of the day. The Stewards have this correct. Aston should pay for the damage as well lol. Needless. Given the cost cap thats a very very expensive accident. Not smart driving by FA at all. Not this time.

    Great result for Ferrari!

Not so sad for max, he will be on a rampage in Japan.

Well what else could he do? Piquet wasn’t there to help him, he couldn’t hold Russell up in the pits and he currently has no access to the Ferrari car plans

His post race lap looked like he was having throttle issues.

right, but how would that explain his erratic and excessive braking into T6?

I am. I'm an Alonso fan from the start, he's one of the greatest drivers ever, and it's clear to me he brake-checked the kid.

He brakes well before the braking zone starts, so he could force Russel to do the same. This would make Russel's lose some distance for his coming DRS attack. It's pretty obvious this was the intention, and it's not the first time Alonso has done this, so the idea he just accidently keeps having to suddenly stop in front of people pursuing him is not believable, and this time he simply took it too far. I've given Alonso the benefit of the doubt when incidents like this happen before, but not this time.

If he's this desperate for a miracle win, he should retire before he hurts someone.
