    I remember Melbourne & Collingwood playing off in five Grand Finals – 1955, 1956, 1958, 1960 and 1964 – but it was a bit like the Road Runner v Wile E. Coyote, with the Demons winning four of the five flag deciders. The exception was in 1958 when the Pies went the knuckle and ended up winning both the footy and the fights.
    It led to a change in the collingwood theme song -

    Good old Collingwood Forever
    They knew how to play the game
    Side by side they fell together
    To the tune of the Demons fame
    See their barrackers are crying
    As their barrackers do
    For the premierships a cake-walk
    For the good old Red & Blue
