Am I the first one to possibly role the dice on these knock-offs? Real ones are tough to find. https://www.ebay.com/itm/285746623641?itmmeta=01HSS6EGQZVXNJCRSS2RGEY8MT&hash=item4287d37499:g:v3sAAOSws6Nl5Zlq&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8EmRtO%2Br28fUiAHRj%2FuVmUihfwKNIMxavMfwdDaD4u%2Bops9DAr0oX%2FE1aB7r%2FRTFsqX5rJjDs9OF9Br745cpU1j67V0529fFMivxFA9%2F4cJaDwqa0wMVwAT4OeNg2PWIz8SvOgrX3cB2dXCVPKofLfVEbLiRmxnOt43Nhc4o3B2et3bZWm9ZDGfa%2B16cB%2BbXmKbK2SQGyCrU1EEMmkaYyuNfVBIXwbTrq0hSaj8yNtaiWPctheROWfErKG%2FCNtV1H2GH2MAf2z5WuHUw52S22LKQvv390h9JTyhKi4TbFQ2eM3cboFUzp%2FqSpQsneNO59g%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5qMuqbOYw
HUM?? They say "forged" but they then show CNC milling examples. Forging and milling are different things. Without more information, I would be reluctant to jump this way on a 599. The 599 is heavy and it has huge torque & horsepower. You really don't want a cheap wheel failing under high load.
We just had a nice talk about the junk Chinese front shocks for 599. I would definitely stay away from these. Let other people buy them and we can wait and see what happens, but these things always end the same way.
With Patience you can find a used set. My 612 came with the HGTC package & I wanted the same set for my Winter Tires & a set eventually came up on eBay. (Yes 612 is my "Winter Ferrari") Image Unavailable, Please Login
Forged rims are milled too, the complete front surface is milled. But be aware from these chinese products. YOU CAN'T GET FORGED HIGH QUALITY RIMS IN 20 INCH FOR THAT PRICE. Daniel Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don’t know how OZ made that possible but they made sets without ferrari permission which just have the OZ logo and no Ferrari stamps inside… though i even have seen less of these than of the originals on the market … https://www.ferrariteile.eu/de/ersatzteile/felgensatz-oz-felge i like them as the bicolor finish was not available from Ferrari… You can send me a text if you’re instead interested in a horribly expensive original set might have a lead… Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Those are even wider in the rear at 11.5" vs 11.0" for OEM. OZ offered those wheels here in the States, too, you just had to know what to order.
Maybe that was the trick just make it 0.5 wider and say it’s actually a different set Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The shipping sounds right, but the price per wheel is a bit high If that's the exact style you want I can help you get it made with a contact I made from China, they made my Tesla wheels to my spec Usually its about 300$/wheel give or take
Daniel, This is a BBS wheel, do they make these for Ferrari? The picture looks like the original GTO wheel with thin forks. I'm not really interested in the second generation wheels, the forks are thicker.
Hi George The thinner GTO rim is made by BBS. It was an exclusive design for/from the Ferrari 599 GTO. Some years later the design was "free", so BBS produced this rim as FI (fi) for other cars like Porsche, BMW, Audi, ... in sizes from 18-20 inch. Also , i think at the same time, something happened between Ferrari and BBS. They stopped the partnership. The following thicker GTO rims were produced by AppTech, an italian rim manufacturer for forged technology. AppTech and Super alloy Taiwan became the first suppliers for forged rims for Ferrari. AppTech produced the TDF rim Super alloy Taiwan produced the forged rims for 458 Speciale + Aperta, F12 forged, 812 forged twisted, 488, ... The Monza SP rims i have on my 812 are forged technology also, produced by 2Elle, an italian forged wheel specialist. BBS modified the FI rim and called it FI-R. From what i know, the FI-R is the lightest rim BBS ever produced, i believe it's the lightest on the market 8,3Kg for the BBS FI-R 9,5x20 against about 10,5 Kg from the AppTech 9,5x20 GTO But once again, only available for Porsche, BMW, Audi, ... So, there is no real chance to get a set of BBS GTO rims. Daniel
