Ferrari patents upside down hydrogen powered V6

Many interesting patents from Ferrari this last years, and it’s incredible for so small company imagine and develop all in house.

Electric future no! Hydrogen sounds very interesting. All full electric cars currently can be classified as disposable. Can't imagine people buying a very expensive disposable

 

This is true. My Audi e-tron sportback was 85k sticker. Drove it 3 years and 16k miles only..and returned at end of lease last month… ACV was $35k. Insane. But A LOT of car and luxury for 35k

I don't understand why Ferrari isn't intended in synthetic fuel.

 

Ferrari intends in synthetic fuel and no need special configuration or patent for engine

It would be a great way to make conventional V12s and 8s well into the future.

 

Hydrogen really is the future, I know it takes a lot of energy to make, but it is clearly the future. Rotary engines absolutely love hydrogen. The Japanese car and motorcycle manufacturers are working towards steering the industry towards hydrogen.

 

I have a hydrogen fuel cell car I got for free, it's an interesting technology for sure. Honda just came out with an 'all of the above' (haha) Hybrid, Hydrogen, Plugin, ICE. I might get that to test as well.

 

I appreciate the benefits of hydrogen but where are all the hydrogen filling stations?

Japan’s energy is almost entirely nuclear- they can make hydrogen relatively cleanly. Not so here in the US.
Why can’t someone come up with an ICE type engine that runs on electricity so we get the mechanical noises and vibrations? Yes not as efficient as an electric motor but more fun and clean for the green crowd

It's only available in the Bay Area or South Carolina. I've been testing them for three years, and the problem is bureaucracy and mismanagement, not the technology. Also, most of the stations break down because people are dumb and bust the machines simply because they don't read instructions. I specifically go to one station that is away from the plebs, rarely you encounter broken pumps there.

I was stuck behind this guy who needed to move after he filled up already. I got out of my car and asked politely what the problem was. He said you have to wait 15 minutes to have it warm up.

I tell him; "You need to push and pull" (as the instructions clearly state on the pump). The person was stubborn, so I said, may I try? 2 seconds - pop. A look of embarrassment overcame him, and I did my best to make him feel better. "Oh, it's hard to know these things..."
