I recently purchased an F8 from RDS ( Ferrari Philadelphia). I am loving every bit of the car EXCEPT the gap between the wheel and the fender. After researching these forums I see that some folks have had their Ferrari dealership lower the car on stock springs up to .8MM. When I asked RDS about this the foreman said that this would void the warranty and compromise the alignment and even damage the front lift. He also mentioned that it would void the warranty. Has anyone else received this type of feedback when they inquired about lowering their F8?

Changing the suspension geometry can definitely have adverse effects. It may look great, but handling may be compromised as well as traction control systems.

It’s up to you of course, but be prepared that you may be chasing niggling issues for a long time afterwards.

Yes I am completely aware. Just wondering why some dealers are willing to do it while some aren’t. Or maybe there’s a little bit of room to lower without compromising anything but dealers don’t want the risk or the hassle.

Fort Lauderdale Ferrari told me the same thing. Yes, I’d like it to look better with less gap but I’ll never compromise the ride/handling/warranty to do so. It’s still a gorgeous car at stock height obv

Ferrari issues. Same dealer owns lambo dealer and told me to slam it into the ground if I wanted to and I did. Sold it back to them when I got the F8, no issues.

I had Ferrari of Denver do this on mine with no issues (and I had front lift). I think they went a little too low so I did hit the skid plate a few times when hitting bumps in road but it looked so much better. They said nothing about warranty issues and I have had long relationship with them and purchased multiple cars with them

How low did they go in the front and the rear? On stock springs I assume from your post.

Like you, loved the car but disliked the excessive wheel arch gap.

Had mine lowered at the dealership on the stock springs. They would only lower it 10mm. No issues.

Ultimately went with Novitec springs and lowered a little more. Just be careful with your rear diffuser and use a scrape guard in addition to your lift system. You may also need to go to place that specializes in lowered cars to get your alignment done.

If your dealership is aggressive about keeping your car 100% stock, it could be a problem if you ever run into an issue with the car and need to submit a warranty claim. Luckily, my dealer is much more reasonable about modifications.

    Good luck.

Being in the same predicament and After contemplating and being perplexed as to why you would need to lower the car on anything but stick springs, I’ve decided to go full Novitec on my 488.

Novitec Springs and lowered F8, no issues. It’s actually not that bad of a job to do yourself if you are mechanically inclined, and have a spring compressor tool. Must be realigned after the drop.

Forgive the fact that these photos are essentially an ad for the alignment shop that worked on my car. The guys at the shop took the photos and then sent them to me. These are the most recent photos I have.
