Exactly, whilst you have to admire his dedication to win, this is the side of MV that i dislike intensely.

Massively taking out of context as per usual.

Max said the crew doing a full pitstop service on a car which entire right rear side exploded being serviced was ''****ing stupid''.

Max also isn't seen as a saintly person, nor tries to be. THAT is the difference why people don't give a **** about him being angry.

He didn´t beat Rusell in 2022, and so far he´s having a slow start fo the season. Thats the only thing that matters to me right now, his 7 world championships are in the past.

And to be honest, in most of Hamilton´s championships he dind´t have so much pressure.

So Hamilton is also responsible for unsuccessful seasons in 2022, 2023 and 2024 then?

He had a very capable teammate (a WDC no less) who was allowed to race him, and he had Vettel in the cheat-mode Ferraris. I'd say two of Lewis' WDCs came easily. The others, not so much.

It would be interesting to know if any of you who think putting together a WDC, even in a very quick car, is a walk in the park, have ever done a season of racing and come away with the trophy yourselves.

We're only a handful of races into 2024.

2023, unsuccessful? I'd call 3rd place WDC in the third/fourth fastest car, with your teammate in 8th, a success.

2022, 9 podiums in an absolute dog of a car. Alonso managed 8 last year and everyone thought it was the second coming.

I get it, a lot of you don't like Lewis because of his hair or clothes or something else.

No, no, no.....don't paint your narrative with a broad stroke brush across the canvas to describe me and include me with everyone else.

I'm just making a point the Mercedes put Hamilton with 7 WDC titles and Mercedes isn't making Hamilton win WDC titles in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

You'd expect Hamilton, a 7 WDC title holder, to at least beat his team-mate in 2022. Yes, he beat him in 2023. So far, 2024 is starting out difficult for Hamilton against his team-mate. Doesn't look like he's a 7 WDC title holder as of late. He had a good run though.

Exactly my thoughts. Hamilton was very good for 6 years at Mercedes, but not any more.
Decline happens, like it did for Schumacher, or Vettel, now it's Hamilton's turn.

    Agreed.

I have more fight in Alonso than I have seen in Hamilton with regards to non-WDC title cars.

Why if the car was driveable ? Max couldn't see the extent of the damage from where he was.

It's widely known that Lewis spent the first half of 2022 in data-gathering mode, trying out lots of different setups on the car to try to understand it.

And he didn't just beat his team mate in 2023. He beat everyone else who wasn't in a Red Bull.

If it's "widely known that Lewis spent the first half of 2022 in data gathering mode" then surely you would have read that Russell was also in the data gathering mode business as well.

Both drivers were trading off in the data gathering mode business.

The were, but Wolff said something along the lines of the experiments run on Lewis' car went wrong while the ones on Russel's car didn't go quite so badly. I can't find the quote right now.

Do you really think Lewis can simultaneously be past it while being the highest-scoring driver not in a Red Bull last season?

Yep. He's inconsistent. 2022 he was down against his team-mate. 2024 he's starting off not so great against his team-mate even though the season is early. For a 7x WDC title holder he should be spanking Russell in qualifying and race in every season.

Sainz is probably the one of the best drivers out there. Somehow, i still feel he lacks the raw speed like Max and Shaarl.

That being said, he makes it up with proper strategy games, very much like the Professor.

Especially in the car that he and Merc have been very vocal over that it's designed after Lewis' wishes. He should be obliterating George right now.

Because he knew it was on fire and told the team over the radio.

Did the team ask if it could be driven back? Many times they direct a driver to pull over and prevent further damage etc. Not recalling a directive from RedBull on this incident.

You still fishing with this? By your logic this means he already beat Russell in a car that was'nt designed after his wishes. Nothing to prove by beating Russell now.

We also have "Carlos could be forgiven for being less motivated this year as he's leaving the team" whereas Lewis should be spanking his teammate.

    And they call Lewis inconsistent!

It could be that Max wanted to bring his car to the pits where the fire would be tackled by his team, rather than stopping on the side of the track, and provoke a red flag.
I have no proof of that, but it may have been his consideration.

Could be the case, another point to consider is stopping at a marshall point who are all armed with fire equipment and prevent further damage to his car, or could it be that they are so sensitive that they dont want people looking over the car.

In my mind bringing a car on fire into the pits (whoever it is) must be stupid, cannot see a rule that actually forbids it which seems odd to me!!
