I didn't appreciate you were sort of asking a question, although the answer remains the same: There doesn't appear to be any mention of "previously unpublished" but we should find out in a couple of weeks time (in theory).

Tempus fugit! The publisher's website say "late 2024" for the Enzo photo bio. Not that I believe it...

I think @Doug Nye might be the only one that can shed some light on the release date.

Because they could not sell it and accepted a very low bid for the stock.

Assuming you’re referring to Inside Track…..Even at the original price I believe it was well worth the money. Unfortunately it was not especially well marketed in my opinion and the delays probably caused some prospective purchasers to lose interest.

This arrived from Italy on Monday in perfect condition. The vendor, contrary to what seems to be European custom, shipped by FedEx, not DHL.

No, I just bought this because I’m considering a 456 or 456M as a potential “next.”;)

Not much model specific literature on the 456 GT actually.

Some people are quite harsh in their opinion on these books, mostly because of the trilingual layout, but there is some decent information in there. I have the editions on the 465, 612, 360, 430 and a few others.

It is hard to find good information on the 456, but I have been and am working on a solution for that...

I've heard from two independent large book stockists that Millanta on Ferrari should be with them for dispatch within a week or two.

    Fingers crossed.

Of course but hardly subjective information, just basic statistics.
The Automoblia books consist of sales brochures, owners manuals and journalistic input.
Also not perfect but with the 456 GT you have to take what you can get.

True, but unfortunately it does not contain any background information on the car, the development and the technology.

    Cool to own though.

    I just received this :

Chinetti family archives and NART dynasty honoured in the latest Porter Press book by Doug Nye

    Image Unavailable, Please Login
    • The amazing Chinetti family archives to be shared for the first time
    • A treasure trove of Ferrari material, including many of Enzo’s letters
    • Introduced and annotated by leading historian Doug Nye
    • To be published in close collaboration with Luigi ‘Coco’ Chinetti Jr
    • A wealth of material on the legendary North American Racing Team (NART)
Porter Press International is proud to announce that it is working with Luigi Chinetti Jr and Doug Nye to create the first of three planned books detailing the incredible story of Enzo Ferrari’s long-time friend and United States-market importer Luigi Chinetti Sr and the activities of his legendary North American Racing Team (NART).

This is the rags to riches story of an Italian immigrant to the USA who made a uniquely indelible mark within the American racing world - initially at Indianapolis - and who became its most effective and famous bridge to Europe in general, and to the Ferrari factory in particular.

Luigi Chinetti Sr built his burgeoning reputation as a racing driver upon his two outright Le Mans 24-Hour race victories - for Alfa Romeo in 1932 and ’34 - but there was far more to this taciturn and secretive figure.

In the chaos of Europe 1946-47, he was the man who persuaded Enzo Ferrari that a ready market awaited his new V12 cars in America. Chinetti helped build the commercial success that funded Ferrari’s unbounded racing ambitions.

He had first met Enzo Ferrari when they worked together at Alfa Romeo in the 1920s. In the late 1940s Ferrari appointed Chinetti his American-based importer and agent. Chinetti instantly promoted the brand by scoring his third Le Mans 24-Hours win in 1949, and added another in the Belgian Spa 24-Hours.
By the later-1950s Chinetti’s own NART team brought Ferrari fresh world-class laurels. He also introduced to Ferrari such new American star drivers as Phil Hill, Dan Gurney and Richie Ginther.
Overall, Luigi Sr drove in 12 successive Le Mans races. In 1965 his NART team won the great race with drivers Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt. NART’s star drivers 1958-1982 included Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, Phil Hill, Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez, and many more.

Luigi ‘Coco’ Chinetti Jr, who himself finished fifth for NART at Le Mans in 1971, has long preserved his family’s remarkable archives, as accumulated by Luigi Sr and his American wife Marion. The new Porter Press books will present much of this material for the first time, exposing many real surprises of immense interest to motoring and Ferrari fans worldwide.

Doug Nye is the world’s leading motorsport historian and a prolific author of authoritative books, including a number on Ferrari. Porter Press publishes many of the finest motoring books.

The first volume is planned to be launched in 2024-25.

Luigi Chinetti Jr adds: ‘“There needs to be a book on your father,” was the refrain so often uttered over the years after my father’s passing; he often alluded to “one day” without doing anything about it. He would come up with a snippet of a tale without really letting me in on any details, especially of his life in Europe, and even then much was left for me to piece together from conversations with friends and writings I would happen across. Mother was the same.

‘Their passing occasioned the assembly by my wife and I of some 350 Bankers Boxes whose contents brought light to the decades of a passion with automobiles: the Alfa-Romeos, the Talbot-Lagos and especially the Ferraris. I am in awe of his devotion to their design brought about by his superb machine skills.

‘I am so thrilled to announce my association with Doug Nye and Philip Porter who share the passions of my parents and myself. We are close in age and can relate to this story; we know where everything goes!
‘I am so looking forward to getting involved with these two automobile romantics.’.

Interesting. Looks like a very complete recollection of facts and figures, if not a bit dry.

It seems to be mostly a compilation of information that’s available from other sources, but once it get into it I’ll find out if there’s anything original.
