Still regarding the possible name of the F167, below is a table with the list of the majority of names used so far over the years and in the third column appears the number of times they have been repeated.
The least repeated and which have not been used for many decades are INTER, INDY, EUROPA, AMERICA and therefore a possibility. However, there are two more recent models, the ROMA and PORTOFINO, that use city names and apparently Ferrari has already registered the name AMALFI. Will Ferrari this time go for an old name or will it name the F167 after an Italian city or any other thing?

Sorry I refered that the name AMERICA hasn't been used for many decades and this isn't true. It was used in 2014 in the F60 America and SP America.

MIAMI could be a very strong possibility since they are launching it there :)

Regarding the question about naming, carbuzz.com looked at trademark filings from the Spring and Summer of 2023, Ferrari trademarked the following names (they won’t use all — or necessarily any — of them): 296 Speciale (seems a little soon to resurrect this name), 296 Mugello, Montecarlo (my bet for the 167), Milano/Milano Spider (Alfa names?) and Dolcevita (maybe not a car name but rather a tagline as per the Roma advertising campaign).

Not sure about Miami. If I'm not mistaken, other city names have been (a) Italian (if you assume Indy refers to the track, not a city) and (b) used for front-engined V8s. Ferrari Miami sounds a bit awkward too. And Ferrari would never use an awkward name. (Looking at you, LaF. ;))

Monte Carlo: again not Italian. And in the US market, it would be evocative of the old Chevy - probably not an association Ferrari wants. Monaco, on the other hand, doesn't have that issue.

Mugello is cool, I quite like that. Though would that be more appropriate for a mid-engined car? I know Monza was recently used for a front-engined car, but its design was a tribute to car it was named after.

    I rather like 540MM.

The F167 will be launched in Miami therefore this city name can't be excluded. Ferrari trademarked in recent months several different names.. They are Amalfi, Mugello, Milano and Montecarlo. These names are going to be used in future models but the one million dollar question is which ones ?
I agree with you that Mugello is a nice name. However, since the lines of the F167 are also expected to transmit class, Montecarlo would suit that very well. Nonetheless Amalfi is my favorite, due to the unique mistyc and beauty of the place which I'm sure would combine to perfection with this new V12 Ferrari.

Yes, the challenge in the American market is that when we hear Monte Carlo in the context of cars, we don't think of the beautiful city, we think of the Chevy. Not something I'd describe as elegant.

Maybe Ferrari can change that association, but it's an uphill battle.

The name Monaco doesn't have that issue here. It's associated with the Grand Prix. But, not the word they registered.

Agree, but I'd bet against it.

Chevy Monte Carlo issue aside, I like all of these a lot. Mugello and Milano would get my votes. If I had a vote. ;)

Since Ferraris are mostly named after Italian words and cities, and after beautiful racetracks, there’s no way this F167 will be named Miami muhahahajajaja:p

Since Ferrari knows very well the importance of the North American market on its sales, exhisting such an issue with the Monte Carlo name I'm certain they will not use it.

According to an Italian source Ferrari dropped the name Montecarlo but also trademarked the names Dolcevita, La Rossa and Drake. If the name chosen is Drake in the year the movie Ferrari was released, it would be a double tribute to Enzo.:)

Unfortunately that would likely cause confusion for general public.

    Commendatore might work. :)

Looking carefully at some pics of the ‘rigid’ camo cars, it seems the door/front fender has a sort of SP-51 or SF-90 crease in the door, something I tried to understand in this sketch a while ago:

In drawing this, I noticed the lower front fender behind the wheels was too big and needed something to break up the design, so I thought of that last sketch. It maybe looks a bit sharp edged but I have no more time to re-work it.

‘Basket-handle’ roll hoop was inspired by a sketch I did for PS and, I noticed, with similar body side detailing. Wheels are from an old Pista sketch.

Sounds perfect for a gaudy 80's luxury sedan. Ferrari doesn't use that kind of pompous monikers

Ferrari Monte Carlo sounds great for me, because I'm French, for us Monte Carlo means the dream, the F1 race. The chevy Montecarlo is pretty much unknown here.

    La Rossa sounds great

I don't know what's more ridiculous between "Dolce vita" and "Drake"

I think is going to be more muscular, sculpted and with a rear portion that’s ‘hippier’ but overall I think you’re really close.

Tribute to Enzo would be nice, but yeah, now that you say it, that's exactly what it sounds like.

Allow me to introduce you to the Ferrari LaFerrari. Maybe pompous isn't the word, but... :p

I wish I could say the same.

La Rossa would be for the F250. Drake just won't work as a car name on top of the fact most have no idea its mean and relation.

+1 on la Rossa for the f250….. I remember that from months ago. That would work…. Can’t wait for it being named red.. and being giallo , blu..etc…. not any quirkier than Ferrari the Ferrari …..I somehow guessed Daytona SP3 correctly…. This car I don’t know.. would like xxx SWB (but better for VS I think).
