My 2007 430 Spider is in the dealer at Velocity Honolulu for an annual and clutch. The price is $28K. They have had the car nine weeks and dont answer phone ,email, or their online forms since 5 days. Where can I take the car in Honolulu? A shop that answers the phone.

Just an annual and clutch or was there more work being done. Even at the dealer a clutch and major annual on a 430 shouldn’t be more than 15k. If you needed more things at the same time then sure that might be a good dealer (not independent) price.

    For your reference -

Ferrari SFO just quoted me (last week) $17620 for a clutch on a 2007 F430

Inflation must have really changed things over the past 3 years! I paid $6500 for a brand new clutch job at a highly reputed independent shop in Portland, OR 3 years back for my F430. 28K does not sound right, even if it includes an annual service which is practically an oil change.

I would like to compare that quote to my dealer quote from here. It could be discreet if that matters.

This seems ridiculous amount of money for a clutch

Ridiculous. And that price is insane. I tried calling them for a year about various quotes and they could never take the time to even call me back. Pass. As with almost every business on the islands, there is no competition, so their customer service is bad and probably their quality of work is equally bad. I live on Kaua'i with my Challenge Stradale.

    GO PICK UP YOUR CAR

Call up Bryko Motors in Newark California and have them do it. Tell them Michael on Kaua'i told you about them. Their customer service is out of this world and they know these cars very well. The owner also owns his own F430 and a 599 is at their shop now as well as my car. Your car can ship right to them at Oakland and Jeriko will even pick it up from the port personally. Takes a few days to get there from Honolulu so no big deal. PM me if you want more information and I can give you my phone number.

Seriously, you'll be so much happier. Better communication, faster, and cheaper even with shipping costs (From Kaua'i to Oakland it's $5,600 round trip inside the boat. For you it will be faster and cheaper). Win, win, win. Zero loss.

You're welcome. Correction. The owner owns his own 355. Not F430. But they have worked on F430s, 360s, CSs, and 599s. I'm sure others too. Message me, and we can talk if you like.

Hi. Sorry to hear Dane. I’ll DM an awesome on island Ferrari mechanic. Glad you’re enjoying the Ferrari you purchased from me. Maybe I can go pick up the plates like we agreed?

I really appreciate it. Sure. You can have the plates. It was the DMV who said I couldnt send them to you. Perhaps if you spoke with them you might find a work around. We have a unique system in which the metal plate is issued with the import paperwork from the marine shipping company. That metal plate never leaves the car, you just get new decals for each year until the car is removed from Hawaii. Even if you change owners .

If you ship the car to San Diego to Bobileff Motorcar Company, I'll do it, and you'll have money left over for lunch! Parts: clutch, PIS sensor, throw out bearing is $4,050.00, labor is $3,200.00 for a total of $7,250.00. All parts are original Ferrari, except for a Hill Engineering throw out bearing, which is superior to the Ferrari unit.

Might be a settings issue. The "start conservation" should be in gray about midway down on the popup.

Holy cow. Looks like my scud is going to be taking a little trip with me to my condo in mission beach! That's great pricing Gary. I was thinking about tackling this job on my own, but at this price, risking it with my shade-tree mechanic skills doesn't seem like a good idea! I'll be in touch!
