Hi all, I am Davud from Holland and I am new in this forum. I recently bought a Ferrari 812 SF from 2020 with 17K km on it. Sometimes the gear will not go in reverse. I tried everything...Switch to neutral, to R, back to 1st gear to R shut down car and restart. Sometimes the problem resolves itself by trying later or after driving an extra round. I brought it to the dealer to check the problem but they couldn't reproduce the problem because it worked correctly. After I got it back the problem was gone for a couple of days but yesterday it happened again. Does anyone had this kind of experience?
Stupid question but on my GTS I have to press the brake pedal well and obviously there is a simple sensor, in the past on other Ferraris it didn't require such pressure..... don't misunderstand not at the bottom of the stroke but if on the F8 just need you to touch on the brake and it goes in, not like that on the 812gts
To start an answer with "stupid question" tells a lot about the level. Of course I pressed the brake's well and in different ways for minutes. If I wouldn't press the brake good, then it also would not put up the gear from neutral to 1st... The dealer saw the video and didn't understand why it's not working. They are going to change the reverse button to see if that is the problem.

starting with "stupid question" was a polite way of saying "I guess you tried but it's better to ask"....probably the new purchase gave you euphoria for a moment.......
I assumed that you said that I asked a stupid question. I had to doublecheck it before assuming. I'm really sorry for this.
Had this happen many years ago on my 458 Spider. Was in race mode. Took it out of race mode and it went into reverse! Used sport mode mostly but used race mode and first reverse use failed. Give it a shot? SV
No not yet, this month I will bring the car to the dealer to change the reverse button. They're telling me that the button probably the problem.
Thanks for your reply I will definately try this. Most of the time I'm driving in racing mode, so it's worth a try.
I had the same problem in the PDK 991.2 GT3 a few years back. Believe or not a gearbox oil change / service cured it.
Don't exactly know. The car had done a good few track days and was driven hard, the specialist i use suggested we start with an oil service on the gearbox before doing anything else.
Ok thanks! The dealer will do the maintenance (gearbox oil included) and change the button this month. Hopefully problem will be solved then.
Hi everyone, so the dealer changed the reverse button. They didn't do any maintenance (oil change etc.) because it was too early. It's been a week ago and it looks like the problem is solved. The coming weeks it will be nice weather, so I will drive and test more again.
Hi everyone, I think at this point I can say that it's fixed. After they changed the button I didn't have any issues with putting the car in reverse gear.
