Love your sunroof version of the Modena! Fortunately, we've got a solid indy mechanic in the next town over. I have a feeling I will be on his Christmas list soon.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Yours and others here are starting to make me think I didn't actually do a collossally stupid thing in buying this car. Or maybe we're all just rationalizing together lol

Ha! Or maybe buying another one makes you feel like you didn't make a mistake by the buying the first one?

Beautiful car (I'm biased), and I appreciate your candor. Sorry to hear about the fire, sounds like an awful experience to love through. You're inspiring me to work on it and mod it. Uh oh, the madness begins.

That's been my experience too, so far. The more I drive it, the bet. er it gets. Shifter is a little clunky at first. After the car warms, it shifts smooth as silk We've had some vapors come in the cabin and I thought it was the dreaded fuel pumps; they were fine, just not installed properly. Fixed now, still some vapors occasionally. Maybe this goes in the "oh it's Italian" category.

I like the concept. In practice, there are probably two sides to this equation...one being she needs to convince me that she doesn't need to be pampered!

If your smelling fuel vapours, I'd check the pumps and lines again. Exhaust fumes are different. But, seriously if your smelling gasoline then take the access panels off and look again. Shouldn't be sniffing gas. The pumps can get a crack in the plastic line connectors at the top. gas will pool a little in the top of the pump. Let us know what you find.

No doubt that Porsches are probably more reliable, but NOTHING turns heads like a Ferrari or gives you a bit of self-pride IMHO! Get it driven and enjoy it!

I tried to kill my first 430 and it was an indestructible beast. I once ate 30% of the clutch on a track weekend, but the rest of the car laughed and said "is that all you got?!"

I had bigger bills with both my 996 turbo and SL55 than I’ve yet seen on the scud

tbh I’m fairly confident that N/A cars are generally more reliable long term versus forced induction and battery hybrid

WARNING: This post is a TRAP
To Michael Dalis - The Devil put you up to this, didn't he?

To ALL who said they've never had any serious problems or trust issues, I say onto you," better get to a church pretty quick and pray hard".
You just jinxed yourselves. Ha! but not me .....omg, yes not me, but, but, but ........... 'Resistance is futile'. Oh dear!

OK, fine, I'll say my piece too. Mine is getting close to 10 years of ownership and only the driver's side rad fan died.
But so did the Japanese rad fan on my 2017 Acura MDX. My ecus were aroused by Trev in 1999 and this beast has been as
reliable as my 34 year old Porsche 928. Seriously!

There, I've said it too. Please, please God, I'll try to be better next year.

Post script: With mixed emotions, I will be selling my 360. I got everything mechanically sorted and updated, just not feeling that this is the right car for me at this point. I wish you all safe canyon carving. I appreciated your input. Best to you!

Have you taken it on a spirited drive on some back roads yet or did you just use it to putt around town?

I generally trust my 360. Wouldn’t start once and it turned out to be a poor ground, a recall item that was never performed 18 years ago. Left me stranded and had to be trailered to dealer. Yep, have the dealer do all the service, but I’ve fixed a few things myself, like fuel pump, top recumbent, refinished challenge grill, speakers, gear lever bushing, front brake discs, siren, roll hoop wind blockers. Had dealer pull dash and re glue it, put new defroster vents in, respray the front bumper…

Now, I generally think of my 996 as more trustworthy. But of course, it isn’t a Ferrari… Image Unavailable, Please Login
