I noticed the lawyers name is Lindstrom. If this is the same Lindstrom, I know which is a family friend I can ask him.

Do you have more information you can share? We know someone whose car is there and are trying to get as much information as possible to figure out next steps...

Matt Farah must still be a believer, mentioned him several times in videos I watched over the weekend.

Thanks for sharing that link to the case filing. FWIW Donnie cited to me in early Feb something about a dispute with a Belgium partner. So this was exactly out of the blue with the plaintiff.

Quite a list of complaints. California has their hooks into him hard too.
When we were originally talking about the 328 work I looked up Donnie on the state web site and found he is not licensed for anything. If hes not licensed he cannot get insurance either. California has very strict rules for auto repair and auto sales and I commented then he was in huge violation of them. The state will put him out of the car business forever. The civil suit will be supported by the state and they will testify against Donnie. Hes screwed. His I assume wife is a named defendant. There are a lot of cars involved. I have no idea why he felt he could do this and not get caught. All it takes is one Po'd customer who complains to the state.

I’m glad to see this prosecuted. $400,000 says the charges are very serious.

I’m thrilled. When I was going through hell with him trying to get my car back he only changed his tune and started to do what I wanted when I threatened to call the BAR. The dispute with the guy in Europe I heard involved them buying cars together, Donnie putting them in his name, and then just deciding to sell them on his own and keep the money. Playing dumb when the guy started asking questions. That’s what I heard anyway, maybe someone can confirm. I’ve heard so many stories. He’s already been in prison twice before. Hopefully this time will put him out of business for good and save anyone else stress and heartache in the future.

And I’ll add- Farah needs to be careful. He has sent a lot of clients Donnie’s way and if he’s still talking about him even after finding out about this- could he be implicated somehow? I know that’s what got me to take my car there. Any lawyers out there know?

He does not seem to be a good person. Unfortunatly you can't put him out of business because he never had a legit business. Which is an entire new set of problems. Some people may think they are getting a deal because he works out of an airport in the middle of nowhere. No deal there. Seems he's pissed off a few people.

Surely a judge could specify as part of the sentence that he’s forbidden to do business as a mechanic ever again. Under threat of more jail time.

Well I don’t think most know about that before they take their cars there. I know I sure didn’t. And when I started finding out just what a crook he was I pulled my car.

Without going too into it, I sent my car to Donnie for what was supposed to be a quick "favor". It was suddenly overheating and I was frustrated. He said he'd flush the radiator and poke around and would keep the cost low. $3k max for that, he said. A week or two at most, he said. Fast forward - he kept my car for close to two years while he jetted back and forth to Belgium. I couldn't get my car out, as it was in pieces, locked away in a hangar inside a secured airport. When I pressed him he had childish fits (I'm being careful of what I say here and what words I attribute to Donnie but my FEELING was that I was being threatened with the fate of my car). When he finally "finished it" he handed me a bill for over 10k. And it was still overheating. He did a bunch of superfluous work but never addressed the real issue - the rad had the wrong core in it. It also turned out that some of the work he'd told me he'd done, hadn't been. At least in the opinion of the shop I took it to to try and fix it for real. I called him on this and he refunded me a few hundred bucks.

Fast forward a year or so, I have heard a hundred Donnie stories and felt lucky I had got my car back at all. A certain Instagram/Youtube car personality who uses Donnie for his Ferrari and Lambo was still hyping him and making videos of his cars getting fixed, promoting Donnie's business and reputation as a "Ferrari guru". I politely reached out, told him of my experience, and suggested he may not want to be so liberal about hyping Donnie up to the masses. I said I had admittedly had been influenced by some of his videos about Donnie, as well as Donnie's appearance on Leno's show, and thought I could trust him if they could (an embarrassing admission, I admit)- but that in my opinion Donnie was either an incompetent, intentionally misleading people, or most likely - some combination of both. I was told that hadn't been this fellows experience of Donnie, but that he would pass along my concerns. I told him not to bother, but lo and behold Donnie called me an hour later. He said he felt bad that I'd had a bad experience and asked what he could do to make it right. My feeling was he was trying to square things with the influential internet personality fellow/client and didn't give a damn about me, and I told him he could refund all my money or not bother. He zelled me $500. Lol.

I was left with the impression that the car personality fellow felt that no matter how much he spent on Donnie, Donnie was good content. Lots of clicks, comments, etc. which equate to traffic stats and ad revenue for him. I'd wager the math works out in his favor. Also, to be fair, Donnie can be likable. The guy probably likes him. Whatever the reason, my feeling about this fellow was that he was always nice, but that he was being willfully ignorant as far as Donnie was concerned. I'm disappointed to hear he's still hyping him. C'est la vie.

In my opinion, if Donnie is out of business, that's a good thing.

Interesting read but Im surprised at the number of spelling errors being a legal document.

I wonder how it went down. Was he working his magic in the shop or buying suspension bushings in Italy when he was arrested?

I suspect the spelling errors are a function of AI software being used to extract the legal filings into the transcript shown on the site.

Im not. Having been a retained expert in a couple of these things I have come to realize lawyers are lazy and file lousy, incorrect and poorly executed paper work all the time then are allowed to file endless corrected versions. Some in my experience are just too lazy to even try. I would be embarrassed to have been responsible for some of the legal filings I have seen. I have seen better work from 4th graders and people are paying a lot of money for that work.

I suspect in the Arizona case he surrendered. Far better than making them come get you.

We have two guys here in town that make Donnie look like a choir boy. One is a mechanic and I posted my experience with him here back in about 02. The other is actually a dentist.

And they both are still working. Nothing shocks me about this guy, what he has done, how long he has operated and how many people he has screwed. Nothing. I have seen it and I am still watching it.
