Can’t wait to see. Sounds like an amazing, unique (and expensive) spec!

You are right ! But the question is: Will I spend 25k€+ for something like Rosso Corsa Met. or Rosso 70 anni ? NO ! If I chose this price tag, I want something that is so outstanding, but unfortunately I would like to have a red that immitates rosso corsa and is not flat or like Giallo triplo strato, that doesn't change it colour character too much, just a little pearlescent or even matte in certain lights.

Still haven't made my decission.... grrrrrrrr

Unfortunately that is not how it works. I suggest you to choose what you really like despite the price because they WILL charge you crazy amounts anyway.

No, I won't jump out of the window just because I die someday anyway ;)

But I understand what you mean and appreciate it. Might end this way, but give me the chance to complain first :)

Same - but my dealer “steered me” towards Titanio and looks spectacular… Alloy was a launch colour on the Portofino and definitely suits that car

What Im pointing out is that solid colours look dull from certain angle. A car at this price SHOULD NOT look dull.

Pick any colour you wish but pick a colour that is metallic.

I did pick Rosso Corsa Metalica because I love the colour Rosso Corsa but hated the flat look of the colour. I also didnt pick a 3 layer or 4 layer because I want the colour to be the same shade no matter what angle , what light. This can change a lot even with 3 layer.

You are right, but 25.000€ now for Rosso corsa metallic? No f...g way. Most other met. Reds change their character.

I understand what you intend to say. My problem is that those reds change their character. And each time I see Rosso Imola in the sun I like it alot, in the shadows I don't like it at all. In your example in the background is a F8 in Rosso Corsa/Scuderia which I would always prefer.

Saying that I just came back from a trip to Dubai, in our Lobby there was a LaFerrari in RC. And in the flesh it looks amazing. So I ask myself is it RC, that I (as you do) think is flat or is it the shape of the 296 (which I think is problematic with certain colors) that bothers me ?

I can assure you if the Laf is RC it will be flat at certain angles.

Yes, for sure will it be flat. But the issue is: Does it bother you? And, why does it bother with a 296? I think the shape of the car is in comparison to older V8 softer and maybe a bit boring. More italian grandezza than beast. Optically. And I guess, that it is my personal issue with a 296, why I am not sure which way to go colour wise

Oh yes it bothers me. Im a resin chemist and over the 40 years have been involved with many manufacturers of paints. I HATE SOLID colours for that reason of it being dull at certain angles.

I cant tell you the number of cars I have seen with solid colours with owners either themselves or so call professionally, buffed only to leave massive scratches so as to achieve a shine.

When I started the deal with the 488GTB i was asking if I could have a metallic Rosso Corsa and unknown to me they answered we have one and it is the release colour of the 488GTB.

It was a cheaper option in 2018 however I really didnt look at the price because that what I wanted a metalic version of RC.

Well, I didn't intend to start a diskussion about flatness of solid colors. What I want to mention is, that it is insane to call 25T€ for RC Met. or Rosso 70 anni, when Rosso Magma/Maranello/Fuoco cost the same (and are obvious multiple layer paints). But as I do not like those reds, that change depending on sunlight, I struggle with spending this amount of money for a simple RCMet.. My neighbour was personally involved with the development of Ferrari Colors, he was the chief of this depeartment at the BASF/Germany. If you are a chemist AND had to work for your money (and not the money worked for you ;) ) then I should have made my point clear.
