Changing the wiper blades on a 488 I got a couple months ago. I’ve changed a lot of wiper blades over the years, no matter what they all suck. Somebody needs to invent some universal system that actually makes this process easy.

Nevertheless, I’ve never seen a hook set up like the one on the 488. Ordered blades from an auto parts store they claim they are replacements for this model, but no way can fit on this thing.

    Am I missing something here?

Did you get the old ones off? Send pic of hook attachment point and old blade mount. There are several types on the market now that can be very confusing. If it is like the 458, I found that a hybrid Trico fit and looked the best. the 458 uses a shepards' hook type attachment. It was tight but fit well.

Better to ask than do what I did on my sons mini and break the arm assuming it would come off the way I expected:)

OK, I’m not an idiot. Well, maybe a little bit. After looking at this further, the typical hook you have on most wiper blade arms does exist on this car. The first wiper I removed was on the driver side. After pulling it off, I examined the hook as you will see in this picture. That’s what threw me off because it’s not a hook that is parallel with the windshield. The tech and I both agreed that whoever had this car before me actually bent that thing back. Upon close examination, you can see a slight crack in the paint where the metal was bent back. by the way, the hook on the passenger side is the typical when you see on those autos. so, I’m going to try to bend this thing back down again. Hopefully that will work. Otherwise, I may have to buy a replacement arm.

Wow. Sure is. must have had a hard time installing whatever was on there and made some "modification" to get it to fit. Good luck

I was able to get it bent back into shape. It all worked out.
