Yeah, until now she and Trevor were telling customers DC was away on a "family emergency." Guessing lawyers told them they were now exposed as accessories to fraud. Hoping no one gives that scumbag a nickel. They will never see it again, the same as restitution from the last time he went to prison was never paid.
As pathetic as it is some will pay exactly as they have been. People want to believe. Donnie is a victim don't you know.
Tom, you seem more up to speed on Donnie than anyone else here. In an old interview he claims to have been employed at Hollywood Sport Cars. Any truth to that you know of?
Not that I am aware of, dont know much about Callaway except continued fraud. Consider the source Sounds like more science fiction Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Only hope the AZ justice system has a better outcome than the repulsive result of Tom’s scumbag California thief ! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Maybe he photoshopped his mug into pictures of the factory workshops from the 1950s, in the pits at Monza, driving the factory transporter, de Portago’s wingman at Harry’s American Bar……you know, like Forrest Gump.
Okay......something is off with this whole thing. First ......the "unavailable" part. His arraignment required that he had to post a $400k cash bond to make bail. In Kalifornia that would cost maybe $40k depending on the assets he had to back it up .......house, cars (he actually owns) and other investments. It seems way off that a guy who has been "working" on Ferraris forever can't make bail and become "available". Second.......the Mom soliciting funding. That is problematic and it is hard to believe anyone would send out an email like that. Her son has been charged with Fraud (just one of the counts) and she is actively participating in it? Third......he is being arraigned today which should provide some clarity on what actual charges he will face and if the bond will be adjusted.
Do you know how many real pictures I have seen of some nobody in the Ferrari world who managed to get a picture near the old man looking over a race car? Francisco Mir in Santa Monica was a good example. He had a big blow up of it in his service department.
I hate to take joy in someone's misfortune - but when I first saw the video with him and Jay Leno - something just went off and said this guys is a problem. I've never met him but only seen the videos ... I watched the Matt Farah stuff on his 328 - and most of it seemed legit but way over the top. I'm sorry for those who got caught in his web of lies... The Ferrari world will do that to people sometimes. overall a sad situation.
I don't think you can rule out an outside scam, I think a small chance, but his computer or access could have been hacked and that really isn't a 75+ year old lady sending those. Just last year my computer was hacked and they went through my emails sending a nice email to our payroll asking them to change my payment to details. Luckily our payroll was suspicious plus I noticed someone else was logged in same time as me hiding emails. Someone could have the exact same access to his computer going through emails looking for real customers with real invoices. I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to send money anyway, but you could ask a few questions that only Donnie would know.
I don't think you can rule out an outside scam but when we are already dealing with the Bermuda Triangle of automotive scams I think it makes a lot more sense to assume it is just a continuation of same. I have zero doubt he still has supporters and defenders that will contribute and are telling everyone they know this is either a witch hunt, a big misunderstanding or a gross example of overreach into a business matter that was just a misunderstanding. There are a lot of O J Simpson mourners who still believe he was being railroaded.
All of this rings a familiar tone. Back in the 1970s it was Gordon Tatum and Don Fong. Same plan, same results. Working on exotic cars can be the easiest way to "legal" theft ever invented.
"This will be repaid immediately . . ." Either she does not understand the word "immediately" or she thinks people are really gullible. If funds are available for "immediate" repayment, why does she need the "advanced fund?" Is this some separate money laundering scheme? I am still baffled why anyone would ever send him a car in the first place. He oozed fraudster from the get-go.
Is Donald W. Fong still alive? He was born March 1934. Below from approx. 2012. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
I remember well when Gordon Tatum on the 23rd May 1976 bought 312 B F1 004 from Chinetti for $ 50 Grand. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
