Never really thought of the 812 engine as overly stressed or a compromised design

Its a Mule so you cant see out the back. So they added a camera doesn't mean it will be there on the final car. This is the GTS/Spider and I post another image of this months ago on here

An interesting feature of design and proportions to note in the F167 is how the bottom line of the door (the angle where the base of the mirror starts) is very low, being closer to the top line of the wheel arches, which denotes a waistline quite low and sporty in the F167.

In a brief comparison with the 812, see that drawing a straight line from the angle where the base of the F167 mirror begins, compared to the top of the wheel arches, it is notably lower than the 812.

The angle of the two Ferraris in the images is the same, the proportion I tried to match as much as possible, to compare.

While we wait for the launch of the new car, here's another guessing exercise.
The first two pictures are the side views of the last camouflaged mule that was seen, still without panels, and of the 812 SF. As both pictures were taken from very similar angles, this allows to use them for comparison.
By making the center of the rear wheel of the 812 SF coincide with the center of the rear wheel of the F167 mule, when cloning the body of the 812 SF on the mule, we obtain the third picture .Although this method is not scientific, it allows to empirically conclude that the wheelbase of the 812 SF and this mule is the same or very similar.
The outline of the body of the mule and the 812 SF and its perimeter, also appear to be very, very similar.
These similarities between the latest camouflaged F167 mule without panels and the 812 SF indicate that the side view of the new car, although certainly using aesthetic elements different from those of predecessor models, in terms of lines will probably not be very different.
Based on the way the mules have been camouflaged, everything indicates that the biggest differences between the 812 SF and the new F167 will be in the rear section.
    Soon we will find out.

At least you propose a specific name. How fanciful. A more grungy style no doubt.

If the comparison I made using the images is somewhat accurate, that difference in the vertical line represents about 3-4 cm in height. This visually makes a lot of difference in a car.
I made this comparison because I observed this interesting visual effect on the mules, the mirror line being quite low.
It is possible that the F167 even has the same height as the 812, with the F167 having a lower waistline, but a more vertical windshield, making it appear lower. The 458 has this visual feature: in specs, it is only 1mm lower than the F430, but visually it looks much lower.
For example, another parameter I observed is the wheelbase, which is clearly shorter on the F167, which, in addition to the dynamics, also produces a visual effect.

What wheels are they using in the mules? I suppose they're off the shelf.

OZ Racing wheels. And they aren’t off the shelf as there isn’t an off the shelf fit in V12 Ferrari sizing.

OZ have been OEM suppliers to Ferrari before (599 HGTE wheels) so it wouldn’t surprise me if we see them supplying the OEM wheels again.

From memory, the F12 and 812 development mules were often fitted with what became the stock wheels.

This mule shows a regular 10 spoke wheel that is really dirty.
I think they will have other wheels available as these or the ones in the other post are not going to be the only ones available.

Apparently there is a misunderstanding.. I never said the GTS won't come. But this specific prototype is not the GTS. It's good visible at the rubber band behind the door window. In case of the gts you will see some cuts in it, which is not the case

But I can't wait for the car, and it's for sure an interesting choice from Ferrari to reveal the coupe and GTS at the same time for a V12 GT.

I can't say about Ferrari, but any manufacturer does not want to debut 2 versions of the same car at the same time.
They always want to reveal them at different times(years) to maximize the interest. What I mean is that if they revealed both versions at the same time they will halve (or whatever %) is interested in each version and take away from the total spending $$.
Just my take on the way the automakers maximize their $$'s.

I am definitely not a pro at this, but to me it looks like that these panels have an exaugurated depth in them to change the perceived look of the car.
I don't think that the tape job is hiding a removable roof.

Pretty sure the 10-spokes won’t be available. They’re just ‘unstyled’ development wheels with representative width and off-set. They’re a similar style on all their development cars. For example:

    Well spotted with good close-up!

This would also confirm that the rear window shape visible on this (these?) car with the rigid camo is for a coupe and not GTS as I was wondering if the two versions were maybe confusing matters. Also, for a GTS version I would expect maybe no rear fastback-type window, as on the 812 GTS, for roof folding.

About that window moulding though… that looks like a heck of a tight fit, LOL. Window lift motors must be working overtime. ;)

If ordered both coupe and GTS and both are spread apart with the launch.
Pre-order system is now open with Ferrari and deposits are offically being taken.

Just to clarify. Are both coupe and spyder released at the same time of launch?
