They'd better be for that price .................. but more importantly they'd better stop !!!! Actually, it's because Dion at the dealer pointed out the minor cracks from the drilled 355mm X 32mm rotors were why he wouldn't take it for a test drive, anyway, the new rotors are slotted rather than drilled, a better idea from what I've read but I'm sure the "experts" on here will poo poo slotted
Found them. They are absolutely never out. If I had to guess i’d say it could be Scott Davis who used to have the yellow f50 & speciale (now has purple 675lt spyder) but that’s just a guess. I’m struggling to find the pic of the speciale aperta. That shows it’s never out Image Unavailable, Please Login
Didn’t think about that. I saw a guy who’s been tagged in a few posts of the car. The initials fit but there’s no way real way for me to check if he owns it. Apparently the car is rumoured to have something to do with Maranello, maybe a previous owner of Maranello or something.
Slotted are good to rid yourself of pesky dust and to de-glaze the pads. But still they don't look as cool as drilled. The ones I put on a few years ago... hats look nice when painted in black, no? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmm, couldn't get any that were drilled for challenge Challenge rotors are 355mm X 32mm, my rotors were cracked around the drill holes and were undersized at 29mm I've got a set of standard 355 rotors and calipers, probably should sell off all of the spares
You’re kidding! I was speaking to the owner of an f40 in melbourne who used to be active on here under the name of Bob Dylan, he was talking about how he had cash in hand for a pista spyder and they declined him, same for senna and p1. I’m very suprised in Scott’s case though especially
Just found out he has a manual v12 vantage amr (previous gen) as well. I’m thinking this might be his as well. Looks like he has a pretty nice collection Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ferrari supposedly had a rule that you can't have a Pista if you didn't have a 488 but not sure that's true Ferrari wouldn't sell Scott a TDf because he hadn't bought enough new Ferraris This was a slap in the face to a guy who grew up with Ferraris, his father was the national president and bought Ferraris new from the 360 onwards And the most sought after trophy at FNR is the Ron Davis trophy for best in concour/track/all round good guy (this parameter will elude me forever) So, even with that pedigree no TDF
Porsche is do the same -Now with the high-end 911s regarding the sale of these cars ,one needs a history of buying new cars or in the case of the GT3 RS a history of doing track time .
But isn't that fair enough? From the dealer/Ferrari point of view, surely the guys that are loyal customers and buy multiple new cars come first.
Not a problem for Macan buyers I imagine. You just need a history of bottle-blond hair and a few pairs of Manolo Blahniks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You're kidding, that's outrageous! I'm sure they lost one of their best customers that day. I can't believe with all that history and he still didn't get one.
The new gt3rs has to be one of the hardest cars to get your hands on at the moment. There is a few exceptions but it's mainly just a game of who you know. My friend was trying to get into one with no history, willing to buy whatever macans and thinks needed, you can imagine how that went. But another friend had no porsche history and got straight into a 991.2 gt3 then a 992 gt3rs just because of who he knew and he tracks it 24/7
I'd say it works like this 1. they already had the quota of TDFs finalised to multiple new Ferrari buyers 2. long term strategy to get him to buy more new cars 3. the only history they care about is money
