Amalfi is a fine name … however I’m sticking with this prediction: F167 name SUPERAMERICA AMALFI if used would be for new Portofino or Roma type GT model
How about a bit of Latin : the Ferrari 850/65 Victoris- the Conqueror (of most of the hearts on this thread at least) I know cars have been named corsa(Vauxhall, Opel) How about Ferrari 865Corse? Or even simply The 865 Massimo for the Coupe and Massima for the Aperta version Honestly they could call it La Merda but if it is gorgeous, sings the V12 in the upper register and handles well- mission accomplished Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I'd love superamerica as a name, but if not then would prefer a numbered model name of some kind. Amalfi feels a bit too... soft?
I'm gonna be real with you... it should have been called the Purosangue. Front Engine NA V12 GT is Ferrari's Thoroughbred.
Can’t see it ever being called Miami. There is no connection w the brand or concept there w Ferrari or this model. It just doesn’t belong. Amalfi at least on right track. It’s an iconic region of the country. Forget the beach reference. I think that is irrelevant. Frankly if I went to the Amalfi area I would think more of the importance of the region as a whole than a beach destination. But I still don’t think this is the name.
In the late 1950 there was already a prototype called the Ferrari 850 GT (in the picture), not very pretty, developed by Pininfarina, made using the chassis of a Fiat and powered by a small Ferrari-built 850cc engine. Interestingly, there are still those of my generation who associate the number 850 with the Fiat model with this reference. For these historical reasons I doubt that 850 will be the number chosen by Ferrari to precede the name of the F167. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isn't Miami the location because it is an F1 race? Maybe the F167 name will have something to do with F1? Like the 850 Schumacher or some other famous Ferrari driver?
