To be precise, the Porter website states:

"Four of his sons, however, would also make a name for themselves in the world of motor racing."

To my knowledge that's correct. Or did the fifth brother also participate in motor racing?

 

So jealous of all you guys.

Living so far away in Australia to make it worth my while I have to wait for a few books to be released and ship them together in one parcel to reduce the horrendous shipping costs to get them here.

Hopefully not long to go now....

 

Now that I've checked I may not have room on my shelf.
I wouldn't want to deny that fine Swiss fireplace of some paper if he's hungry.

Porter Press has announced that it’s “very exciting” that the first draft of the first chapter of the first volume of the Chinetti/N.A.R.T. book has been completed…..

 

Just finished reading it (I know, I've not been particularly quick - but I may have some other activities ); initially I thought I would not be very interested by a biography (probably the reason it took me so long to consider buying it) but I can only warmly recommend it.

 

At least it's not the first draft of the first sentence of the first page of the first chapter

 

I received Millanta on Ferrari about a week back, and really like it. Although many of the photos were in the Millanta/Orsini/Zagari book the much larger-size photos are most welcome.

Mine arrived this morning. At first glance I agree. Excellent presentation and feel with quality paper and production. I’m told it is printed in Denmark. They have done a great job and the pictures are first class. A must I think for any Ferrari fan.

 

Today i received this here without having any knowledge of it. It's a book i've wanted for a long time and it's about one of my favorite racing cars. As it turned out, it was a gift from my fiancee. I can't wait for the weekend to open it!

It is a wonderful publication, Christoph Mäder is a design master and a true historian......the DBR9 book has led to many other projects including this https://rpm-books.myshopify.com/ OK it is not Ferrari but it is in the same time zone.....and there will be more to follow....

Yes, i have to agree with you. I know the Porsche book and it looks fantastic and fully detailed about each GT2 car. A future addition to the bookcase for sure.
Another book that i want to buy is the ''FERRARI 550 MARANELLO PRODRIVE by Keith Bluemel. Has anyone got the book to give me an idea of how good is it?

The drawings inside the book and the cutaways are fantastic and fully detailed!!

Furthermore, I did some unboxing reels there.

 

I have found copies of "Car Racing 1969" on eBay with two different covers, the second seemingly the rarer of the two. Can anyone tell me if the cover is the only difference between the books? (I presume both versions are still bilingual.)

Notes on the book “Millanta on Ferrari”.

p53 – “stray bales” should be “straw bales”

p97 top – (l to r) Graziano D’Angelo (test driver), Lampredi, EF, Navone (with helmet and goggles, Cortese (in car). The date was 28 May 1949.

p268 top – car is described “as Indianapolis 375”, however the exhaust position looks like a 500/F2. Compare with photo of 375 on p.271

P268 bottom – EF is talking to Giberti and Meazza. Lampredi is by the window, and Bazzi is just visible in the pit beneath the car.

p269 – The Vignale on the left looks like it has a bent roof. Any one any thoughts on this?

p286 bottom – I believe the unknown “lady with the hat” is Isabella Taruffi.

P290 – this car is described as Farina’s crashed car. However, comparison with the photo of Farina’s car on p289 reveals that the painted no. 20 should be visible on the tail. Also, there don’t appear to be any vents on the lower bodywork between the wheels. Ergo, not Farina's car.

I just bought this one - it's used, it's in Italian (almost understandable to a French speaker though)... but it's less than one third of the price of the new release, and it covers one more year
