    Finally got around to changing my timing belts on my 360 last weekend and found an empty metal container thing mounted on the bulkhead in front of the crank pulley. Just wonder if anybody can shed some light on what it is and what it does for me. Sorry couldn't get photos to upload for some reason.

    Crush box. The big black thing on the back of the transaxle is the same.

    It's something that people tend not to remove and then complain that they cant get a normal socket on a crank pulley.
