Can someone offer an estimate of value assuming good condition? Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sorry, but the picture is the best I could get,
Image Unavailable, Please Login If anyone has this lying around ... I refuse to pay eBay's absurd prices for a paperback....Otherwise I'll wait until I find it at an Italian flea market. :-D
Interestingly, it has just been republished in French, with a curiously altered title (I'm investigating why) Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's true. What I wanted to say here is that this book doesn't seem to be of very good printing quality and that it was sold for 13 euros when new. If the subject wasn't Enzo Ferrari, this is the kind of book you'd find in today's discount stores for €3-4, not €150-200 ...
FWIW, it's an interesting little book that explores one of the lesser known, albeit somewhat prurient, aspects of Enzo Ferrari's personality.
It's an interesting book. Mine also has a hard cover. Here's a link to an auction dedicated to Fiamma Breschi memorabilia : https://www.maisonbibelot.com/uk/auction-0132-1/fiamma-breschi-the-formula-1-lady.asp?pag=1&pViewCat=#resultsBox
Does anyone have the three-volume work by Tim Considine, TWICE AROUND THE CLOCK. THE YANKS AT LE MANS that you'd be willing to sell (or trade for some Ferrari books)? Additionally, do any of you here recall a review or comments on this site when the work was published? Please PM me if you can help with either or both requests. Thx Yoric
Did you see this review? https://speedreaders.info/21929-twice-around-the-clock-the-yanks-at-le-mans/
Thank you both. My interest, for now, is just the original 3-volume by Considine himself. Best source for purchase of the set--ie., reliability, speed, price, shipping--in your experience, in case no one here comes forward with an offer to sell theirs?
Depends on where you live. Set is out of stock with most European suppliers. David Bull Publishers have a stock, charging the original retail price. Shipping out of the US can be costly.
For whatever reason, it seems the shipping to Europe from David Bull has reached very high costs; but it may be, relatively, more sensible on such an expensive set.
I suspect that you are way ahead of me regarding this but I received a mail today saying that offers would be accepted on a mint copy of Tim's masterwork. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166659771962?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=e90001.m161799.l174484&plmtId=700008&mesgId=3015&mkcid=8&ch=osgood&bu=42992137530&trkId=b0fe19ba-0459-3e28-9b3e-693ea81e72e1&cnvId=700003&recoId=166659771962&recoPos=1 Good luck.
FYI: Janos Wimpffen: "I just finished up a project in which I am not the actual author. It is the history of NART & Chinetti by the late Michael Lynch. He had finished a draft of the manuscript before he passed away in 2019 and the effort was handed over to me (with significant contributions by Harry Hurst). I became the principal editor and especially, the photo editor. It is a David Bull project, the first major project after David's death. It should be in print by Monterey or shortly thereafter. I'm likely to have a similar role in yet another lost friend's work (Tim Considine) in his last volume of Yanks at Le Mans. -- also should be out this year. Then I return to hopefully, finally, getting Sons of TATS books out".
Not a Ferrari book, but nevertheless a great story about an Italian sportswear and its father. The guys that I know that knew him said: "keep your hands on your wallet when DeTomaso was around!' 276 pg. @$121 incl postage from Belgium.
