All the Hamilton hate BS aside I am really curious to see if he's just going to retire or join the most vaunted F1 team and carmaker in the world. I wonder if he can resist- that would be a legacy that could eclipse everything he's done before.

65 is young IMO. I of course could be wrong but suspect he's still hungry.

I'm not a Ham fan, but if Ferrari pulls off a run of years with this team I'm going to salute them. Viva la Fred

NOTE BENE: Just cringe with the thought of the cretinous screamers at Sky Spew regurgitating this jive all weekend. The good news: the fake marina wipes up spills really easily.

It happens with sponsors as well. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Budweiser was sponsoring an IndyCar, a NASCAR Cup car, a sports car and even an air racer and a hydroplane. By the end of the decade, all that had gone away, and today they are only a secondary sponsor. All it takes is a change in management to make a difference.

A new wife! That means he only has half the money he had when he was married to the previous one. Divorce settlements have major economic impacts on retirement plans. A new yacht that he wants to keep in the Med? It all adds up...a new home in Monaco, next to his yacht, and with no income tax, a new wife to spend what the British government would have taken. Three years at Ferrari for insane money and all the perks! And the end of the three years, he and Lewis open up a chain of forward fashion sushi bars.

Because nothing was allowed to chance, and Mercedes has a huge say in engine rules and regulations. Renault's half a@$$ commitment wasn't helping either.

Elkann and Fred pursued LH. So its not LH fault. Ferrari at the highest board level engineered this. Some cannot read at all but live in hate at others. Stupid way to live a short life lol!!!

I find it utterly baffling that there are people on FerrariChat who are hoping for a team other than Ferrari to succeed. There are many times when a driver I'm not keen on has joined the Scuderia. I have always wished them well when they joined us and usually remained a fan once they left (Alonso, Vettel, Irvine etc).

I just want to see a Ferrari driver win the championship again. It's that simple.

I see it the same way as you. I support the team (Ferrari). Team members come and go.

This is perfectly normal in Soccer, baseball, American football or whatever where no self respecting fan would change team just because a certain player happens to play there.

But I disagree with you that everyone here must support Ferrari. This should be an inclusive place and different points of view (as long as respectfully expressed) make the site better.

Absolutely there is room for fans of other teams. I just find it odd that they are on a Ferrari forum.

If the Scuderia ever gets its soul spark and excitement back I will cheer them. Hopefully the new guy won’t crush them down even more. elkann seems like a prick.

    It's a F1 forum.
I can't imagine a site where people focus on only one team which doesn't win, without commenting on those who dominate !
Not discussing Red Bull, Mercedes and else would be ignoring the elephant in the room.
People like to back a winner !!!

Exactly !! When Ferrari will win a series of WDC and WCC titles back-to-back, more people will be behind them perhaps.
That has happened a generation back; many people don't even remember when Ferrari was last champion !
All they have offered since was the spectacle of a dysfuntional team changing principals all the time, constantly shooting itself in the foot with plenty of drama, not realising their potential and making excuses: "Next year it will be better!" Hahaha

That's probably what they are hoping for, but I am rather dubious as to their chances of success.

I'm not suggesting that Red Bull etc don't get discussed. I am not even suggesting that everyone here should like everything that Ferrari do. Being a Ferrari fan sometimes feels like being in an abusive relationship. They keep battering me, but I know they'll get better one day - won't they?? I have no issue with anyone criticising the team or their decisions. The thing I don't understand is people actually hoping for failure. We can all admire Red Bull and their current dominance, but not wanting Ferrari to have a piece of that feels wrong on a Ferrari F1 forum.

I believe Me Newey has 3 options in front of him
    - Sail de Med and enjoy his new toy and forget F1 for a couple of years
    - join Aston Martin and stay in his Country with his family
    - join SF and go through a profound change in his life

I would guesstimate the chances being 20%, 35% and 45% respectively
As I said before, and as a Ferrari fan, I believe SF is on a path to win championships even without Mr Newey, so let him pick option 1 or 2 and I am fine with it.

I have been on this forum for many years, and noticed that some self-confessed tifosi and even owners are the most ardent critics of Ferrari. I presume they became cynical having been disappointed so many times.
Also, there are some tifosi who are very touchy about any disparaging comment about the Scuderia, and still believe in father Xmas. The years go by, and nothing happens for them, but they still see F1 through rose tinted glasses.
When Ferrari will have another string of titles like Red Bull and Mercedes did, I will applaud them.
So far, they gave me too many reasons not to believe in them. Would you back a lame horse ?
