Absolutely. The part I was disagreeing with in your previous post is the notion that no one liked the car initially, and everyone who likes the car now has had to talk themselves into it. Probably true for some. But I think a lot of people genuinely love it. And that's a good thing.
You make a good point - with Pininfarina, they did some good designs and some bad designs so I’ve not been caught up in they’re so great “Koolaid”. The world is changing and for sure tastes are different and the change to EV will accelerate these changes. For designers, getting the mix between old and new right isn’t easy. I was just looking at the new Aston interiors and their mix of analogue and digital looks about right. Ferrari has gone much more digital which, for some controls really doesn’t make much sense. I like the new designs - there are things I’d tweak but I think it’s an interesting transition model from old to new. I’ll get both but have asked for the spider first.
Also … Why the f@&k is there active aero flaps on the top of the rear fenders of a GT sports car?! We don’t need Active Aero on a Sports GT car … We NEED Active SUSPENSION on a Sports GT car! Why can you get this on a $150k Porsche Panemera and NOT on a $500k Ferrari GT?! You will hit 20,000 times more pot holes than air pockets! Clown show.
Yep. Totally irrelevant tech on this car. Those winglets add 50kg of downforce at 250kph. Speeds which hardly any of these cars will ever hit and a level of downforce which not one single driver will ever notice. It’s like a single basil leaf garnish on a giant plate of pasta.
Aston Martin’s ribs must be bruised and in agony laughing at this, my opinion, it’s a mess….it’s bloody awful…and that’s with my rose tinted glasses turned upto the max….just can’t see the beauty anywhere in this, nothing flows…. Honestly. Manzoni should stop trying to impress with his endless word salad descriptions of a car his team built. Real art speaks for itself and makes a viewer an owner. If you have to babble on then you are not letting the design speak. Really, and not meaning any harm, Manzoni should leave the corporation. This is not uncommon in industry and really is necessary if you want to pivot but still retain the visuals of the brand. Manzoni just doesn't get designing an automobile.
As always with Ferrari, officials pictures are absolutely horrible. With time people who dislikes it right now will adore it. I have to say I pretty much like it. Very classy and smooth design. Like a front engined V12 Ferrari should be. Only my opinion again.
What happened to the starter button? Based on this picture from a while back I thought they were going to put it back Image Unavailable, Please Login
Manzoni's head is on another planet where the touch buttons make the interior minimalist, so they're here to stay - probably including the touch starter button. Can't see them bringing it back with him at the company
Might have been for the car that was cancelled. There was a V6 non-hybrid in the works that was cancelled last year if I remember correctly. Other than that there's F250, SF90 Modificata, 296 VS, BEV, Icona, Roma 2. Not sure which one I'd put my money on that steering wheel being for among those
I consider my self reasonably in the know and have not heard talk of such a car. Could be wrong, but don’t see where that car would fit in.
Not a fan of the brand from Sant’Agata, but I highly respect them for sticking to “physical” buttons rather than touch sensitive for the steering wheel on the Revuelto
It’s the Tesla generation man. When an electric suv gets them I guess this V12 absolutely needs them. Totally agree. Car seems too digital and do see Roma design loosely—that was a departure to some extent from prior analog styling. Again tech driven leadership and techy output.
He will definitely go down as guy who created some of most controversial and polarizing designs in Ferrari history. 12C was expected to be well accepted form wast majority here. But (un)surprisingly it was again very polarizing.
I think this angle is the best to explain the design. Image Unavailable, Please Login not sure how often can you see it from this angle, but hte birds will enjoy the view
We were told that relentlessly that we would be happy with the new rear end, and that is by far the worst part. Deposit will be in, but will withhold order until I see it in person. They fixed the back of the 488 with the F8, and now disappointed with Roma, SF90 and 12C.
I made a quick comparison with our sketches and the real vehicle (center of the picture). Did we (or the insiders) promised another car? Now judge for yourself. I haven't forgotten isot and his great work, but this is just a first image comparison. Ingegnere (below) is the king of the details! I've always said that. It's great how much he recognized. I focused more on the overall beauty (shading). And yes there are surprises! I also think the excessive waiting time increased expectations immeasurably (including me). And we have problems with the design of some parts too. But give yourself and the car some time! I think many of us will like it in the end! Image Unavailable, Please Login
