There was nothing clean neat or organized in his life. That was his personality. Its easy to see when he works. Haphazard defines him.

You simply cannot be successful at this that way. Everyone I know any good at it has some OC tendencies.

Does anyone know if anyone is taking care of his dogs, or their status? I’d hate to know they are alone or distressed.

His asst has been at the hangar helping people move cars out so I would assume/hope they are taking care of his dog.

If Callaway served his last sentence as a plea bargain under which he had to pay restitution and he did not pay the said restitution, would it not make the plea null and thus he would have to go back in for his full sentence in California? Just saying...

 

Donnie has been stalking my uncle for years, planning to pounce on my grandfather’s cars. He entered into a fraudulent agreement with my other uncle, have him $100, gave over fraudulent vehicle titles of other vehicles in his possession, and promised to pay the rest in two days. He never did. If someone wants to buy the Monza, they would pay my family not Donnie.

 

Norm Thompson was my grandfather. Donnie gave us $100 and said he’d get the rest of the money. Never did. Then as you said, tried to sell. He was trying to sell stolen goods!

I am curious (and I promise I am not asking this judgmentally), how did Donnie manage to gain possession of the Monza? I can imagine a slew of ways that might result in further charges against him in CA, but I don't know the details, hence the question.

 

It's complicated, but he said he would buy and pay for the four cars. After talking to my friend who works for LAPD, I learned that the pay $100 and promise the rest in two days is a strategy used by thieves of high end items. My uncle Dennie inherited the cars because he had the greater passion for the cars over my mom and my other uncle. Dennie is kind and smart, but doesn't quite live in the same reality as the rest of us. It's quite sad that the cars have been sitting there for all this time.

Matt now claims anyone with Priors is OK

 

Very common in modern society. Its just not fair to judge by prior bad acts. People can change.

We used to make them prove they had changed but that is considered unreasonable.

Based on Donnies lengthy criminal history I'd say he is a poster boy for the saying a zebra cant change his spots. It also supports my belief we'd be better off adding a zero the the sentences handed out and your second go around in the justice system ought to be life.

 

People dismiss lengthy arrest histories with, “Yeahbut he’s never been convicted.” I guess that huge rap sheet is just a lengthy history of bad police work….

 

Priors for stupid offenses like "smoking pot" is one thing. Priors for theft and such are a very different thing. Context, etc matter.

In particular, priors from the same business! Who on earth would give their car to a guy knowing that he'd previously defrauded his clients and tried to sell their cars as his own? Context matters.

 

So someone getting busted for pot at 20 is tainted for life? As compared to someone that has a long history of theft, fraud, etc? That's just ridiculous.

 

Respectfully disagree. Human character is fully formed by age 11. Also, we’re supposed to judge. Why is judgement a good word, but judgmental is a bad word. This guy was a criminal. None of the other victims did.
