Aside from being less compatible with some European B roads, what’s wrong with the extra width? Sports cars should be low and wide.

It’s a regular production car so I guess number of units is just limited by production capacity. Top customers will get cars first and maybe initial allocations are gone but most people who want one should be able to get one during the production cycle. I was told that only 30% will be spiders but given pricing, if the demand is there it seems to be a no brainer for Ferrari to produce more.

A lot of people mentioned that 812 was measured from the body/mirror base while the 12C was measured from the mirror's tip hence the large difference

I feel like there's this large group of ferraristas that will find every new Ferrari model "beautiful" and "stunning." To me, this car looks like a poor attempt to end the Ferrari 12 cylinder ICE legacy by lazily designing something that resembled an old 12 cylinder model to be "historic," instead of putting the work in to design something truly unique and modern. Seems like the last time they really did that was the 599, or the 458 in the 8 cylinder line.

When the younger generations get older, their "retro classic" will not be the same cars and same styling you're thinking of.

Yes, overall I like the Spider. If it was just the coupe I would not go for it. But the long, low and wide nose and then the circular rear fenders and buttresses of the Spider hit the spot. As mentioned it seems retro-futurist to me, and this looks like a sci-fi roadster that we thought “the future” looked like as a kid! I like my blues and aqua colors but I think for this shape Sanu silver over Rosso Ferrari leather with a stripe (or royal blue Alcantara) would look magnificent.

While Aston is going more shapely like the F12/812 line, and Lambo is going even more complex origami, Ferrari has made a shift back to elegance that might leave other brands playing catch up over the next decade. I’m going to work like hell for the next year to try and be able to keep my F12 even with the new cars coming. Given that I’ve lovingly run it up to 47,000 miles it’***** that point where I’d rather keep it than get a few bucks (I guess it’s the point where unless I’m in a pinch and need $$ it’s worth more to me than what, 150-160k on trade).

I’m actually very surprised it departed so much from the Purosangue exterior, the Puro has F12-like aero bridges, while that 12C has such straight angles on the door seams and that extruded belt line. It makes the Roma look dated already, and Roma isn’t ugly. Roma needs an update with some more aggressive fenders with vents, nose with a real grille and a 812C like duck tail.

I also trust Scott and GZ who were there and say it looks amazing. ;)

I’ve been thinking about it all day, which says something. People are complaining it’s so similar to the 812 in specs and performance. I’m sure with a new chassis it will have some tweaks to the balance and feel. Sub 3 seconds to 60 there’s not a lot of room - and even with my 8 year old F12, restraint is needed.

Actually the brilliance of the market position of the 12 relative to the SF90 is that this is NOT a flagship anymore, it is a swan song the V12 lovers who want the final edition of the “greatest internal combustion engine ever made.” It’s not for everyone, but it’s for the “connoisseur” who knows Ferrari and wants what THIS car has inside. I’m excited to see what we can do for exhausts, like my F12 Ryft, I want something that screams.

The rear aero just seems like a waste of boot space , with only 170 litres in the Spider a little extra on each side would have been more useful.
