    It’s 8 inches wider than a LaFerrari! …

It’s wider than Shaquille O’Neal laying on his side! lol

I'm still slightly sceptical that the official quoted width of 2176mm is in fact correct. Find it very hard to believe that Ferrari has allowed it to grow in girth by a massive 105mm over the 812. Still hoping it's a miss-print and we'll see a correction in the not too distant future.

I hear ya but … in one of the vlogger journalist videos filmed in Maranello, they quote Ferrari saying it’s so wide because of door crash regulations … so right now we have to assume it’s NOT a misprint.

Many people’s garages will have a tough time accommodating this wide of a car, no joke

Lol, not some buttons. It's all buttons, I think. When I test drove the purosangue, I was not happy that I have to click 7 times to get to seat setting.

it's more like 200mm if my memory serves me right. 1970 vs 2170. The only logical solution that comes to mi ming is that it is with side mirrors Included.
    Hopefully someone can clarify.

Oh dear. I’m not sure what to think about this one. The design is clearly divisive, and that for me is an issue. A Ferrari should be universally loved. End of. Any car that needs to be black, as some have said in this thread, is hiding failures in its design. I don’t think it’s as bad as some think, and there are many aspects of the design that I actually like. But overall, I don’t love it in the same way that I do an F12 or a 550.

But beyond the design, this car has a number of other issues. For a start, it’s absolutely enormous. Its heavier, longer and wider. It’s bigger than a 599, a car often criticised for being too big…. The interior is a mess. Haptics everywhere. And, the final straw, no BIG RED START BUTTON!

Overall, I really wanted to love this car, but right now, I just can’t. Maybe that will change with time. We shall see…

Yes and no. I think it is great if a car design is universally loved however they never are. They all have criticisms upon release. Also as art goes it’s good to be both loved and hated. Ferrari are trying to really push the envelope with this design and it is really art. No doubt it is quite edgy and because it’s trying to reach into the future it will inherently turn some people off. It’s like dissonance in music or strangeness in beauty. Time will tell. It will take ten years and more to really see how good this design is or isn’t.

To go backwards into 1967 with the front end and into 2030 with the rear end? Where is the idea behind the overall design?

Modern ‘Daytona’ is the concept. If one doesn’t care for the concept they won’t like the design.

lol reading this thread after the reveal is like being in a nursing home. Complaint after complaint with little substance, only to justify personal choices.

It's not my favorite but how many things are we gonna nitpick here.

Dude, if you don’t like it, then you don’t like it. Ferrari don’t care. I don’t care. I like it and want to see it in person. It’s light years better in design than the 812.

It's true that no car is universally loved, though many (not all) Ferraris come darn close.

Thats the beauty of most Ferrari designs, including Manzoni's. They move the design conversation forward without being edgy.

Does the 12C hit that chord? Time will tell. It strikes me as one of the more devisive designs in recent Ferrari history. Don't think it needed to be.

Question is will you regret passing up an allocation in two years when they actually hit the street? Might be wiser to place an order and then cancel rather than regret giving up an allocation....

Am assuming that is width including mirrors rather than to widest part of body work. If not, and if this is just body work, then it’s a monster.

That just shows me the dissonance between here and the real world. I've never met anyone, car person or otherwise, that doesn't like the look of the LaF.

Opinions change. That’s why time tells the quality of a design. People are conditioned to perceive design a certain way. When a new language comes along it takes time to understand and then decide if one likes it. They may like it after some time and understanding when they didn’t before.
