I remember people complaining about that the three tail pipes should be sacred to the F40. The mustache wings on the front looked silly. Etc. etc. it took time to understand it. After time the majority like it.

This is true, hence my use of the term 'near' universal praise. If there is one lesson in life I have learned as my hair has greyed it is that you can't please everyone. Another Ferrari that was very well recieved from memory was the F12 though even then people made fun of the shape of the rear.

People still crying about the rear of the F12. I don’t understand their complaints. The F12 is a classic. Basically a tribute to the 275. My point is people always react to change. Design takes time to absorb, actually see / experience it in person, and in time develop a well informed opinion. The 12C is extremely edgy and not conservatively designed. It will take time. We will see.

This is what I love about Ferrari; their designs are always daring and they are not afraid to take risks and think outside the square, much easier to play it safe. It is one of the things that make Ferrari my favorite sports car manufacturer in the world - admittedly my Italian heritage may help in that regard. They don't always hit the bullseye on the styling department but it is not for lack of trying.

One thing very oddly and interestingly that’s growing on me is that I see this as a nice V12 Ferrari I can drive and possibly be stealthy and not garner the same attention as I might in my 812gts or even in my F8S— as they both scream Ferrari. Most might not notice that this is a Ferrari right away and there is something to be said about driving an Fcar totally unnoticed and in zen mode. I was thinking the same for the purosangue on order but perhaps 12C over that?

Loved the design of the 599 and am a current owner. Skipped the F12 and 812, not a fan of the curvy side scoops. Very impressed with the clean lines of the 12c and am interested in ordering if the opportunity arises.

Not even close. 812 was much more polarizing.

The 599 was amazing, It had an American muscle car look about it, and those flying buttresses were a work of genius.

I think the fact that Ferrari tore up the design and entire engineering platform of the 599 and went in a completely opposite direction with the F12 tells you everything you need to know about what most Ferrari clients think of the 599.

No idea what Ferrari thought of the car, but they obviously liked it enough to release it. I personally like it. Not sure how well it sold.

this car was starting to grow on me and now seeing this photo, wow i just took 10 steps back. I just need to see this car in person.

i think divisive is the right choice to describe the design. I have found all the recent designs to be non controversial but this one is definitely controversial. I will unfortunately need to wait longer and see it at my local dealer.

Ferrari’s quote unquote ‘hardline’ stance when asked about painting these black parts reminds me of when the Enzo was launched. It was said over and over again…’You can get it any color you want … as long as it’s red, yellow or black. No other options.’

Yeah right. It wasn’t long before enough rich guys said “Yeah f@&k that, you’re painting it silver. Thanks.”

Rest assured they will let you paint these bits whatever color you want if you throw money at them. Better yet … they will tell you that’s only available if you do a Tailor Made car lol

That front view is a deal breaker for sure. Maybe it’s the angle?

Here we go again putting beer goggles on…

I’ve actually never spent so much time looking at every video and angle…

I would love to see one in Nero Opaco

It’s not the black between the lights that bothers me. It looks so rectangular in front in a lot of pics.

I somewhat agree but remember that we don't look at cars from that angle (unless you're very, very short). Car design should be looked at from the average human height. All cars will have weird and funky angles if you look around hard enough.

This shot just proves it needs the full front light bar & the black strip needs to be in Carbon
