I forgot which thread we discussed this, we noted a lot of pressure inside the gearbox when changing oil and started to suspect that the relieve valve can get faulty...

Changing it is possible if you work under the car , and you remove the F1 actuator heat shield (or nothing, if you are gated like me hehe) , and use a small 14mm spanner (or cut and shave a bit one like I did) . A regular one would not have enough space to be turned in there. A ring spanner does not fit over the head on the old valve; but FYI, on the new one they got smarter. The hat is smaller in diameter and you can fit a thin ring spanner on top and use that too (if it is short enough). New and old valves are 14mm.

The spacing to the frame is enough to back out the threads on the valve. The OEM has some kind of goo on it (white) to seal it to the gearbox, so you need to use something. I had the tube of yamabond next to me, so I put a microdrop on the top end of the thread so it seals.

I am yet to drive the car and see if same amount of pressure builds, but now I know it's supposed to be whatever it is.

That's weird. I have never seen or heard of a vent breather ever fail on any car. But of course Ferrari! Have you 430 guys seen more gearbox leaks because of the breathers failing?

No, but I had huge pressure inside when I removed the fill plug when hot, it literally blew it up in the car. So I thought for 5 bucks and shipping would worth changing it

I swapped that valve, and with the new one, relatively the same amount of pressure was noted when I removed the oil fil cap... so guys; don't worry about it too much, seems to be by design.
