Do you have any pictures of Grigio Isabel?

I think colors that can show the lines will work best- likely metallic type colors or colors that lighten around body creases.

Deposit in for coupe, option to switch to spider based on in person viewing. For any who have seen it in person, how bad does the black roof and back part look? Usually not a fan of two-tone.

I worry that the large black bits will look cheap and may easily show scratches and swirls. Seems that CF will be a must have?

At least they are glossy and not the dull gray look.

If you ppf black bits , no swirls or scratches I always get all the carbon bits on my cars inside and out, but this time with this style of car I’m thinking no carbon !

Personally I love the fact the 12 Cilindri is wider than previous editions it will make it look more exotic as well as giving it a better stance and curb appeal - IMO

I wouldn’t say cheap, but I am more worried about swirls so I will go carbon

PPF is a good idea but it's softer than clear coat and easier to scratch when washing- you have to be extra careful. Some is self healing.

I also worry about the black areas but at this moment I'll give them the benefit of the doubt they wouldn't make such a major part of the car so easy to get looking terrible quickly.

I read there is no carbon option for those parts as they echo the front bar and that is black only.

I wouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt on anything. They can't even produce a driver seat lift lever that doesn't crack after every time it's been used. And as Manzoni replied, when asked if those ugly black bits could optionally be painted: "Over my dead body." There's a certain arrogance that goes with thinking one knows better than anyone/everyone else. He's an idiot.

Agree. Also, because it sits slightly taller due in part to the larger wheels, it needs extra width to ‘flatten’ out the shape.

I wouldn’t do any exterior carbon on the car. Just not necessary.

I believe the alternative is satin black plastic (same as the Puro) which isn’t ideal. I’d opt for gloss black if I could, otherwise carbon it is. Fortunately the standard interior finish is gloss black.

Normally I would agree, but I think I read that Ferrari will not control the ratio of Coupe/Spider. However the orders come in is how they will build it. In that case, since most will opt for the Spider, the Coupe will end up being made in much lower quantities relative to the previous generations you exquisitely detailed above. What might happen to the value proposition if Coupe’s are outnumbered 3 to 1 by Spiders?

well, it’s possible that the Coupe ends up being more desirable by being limited and in the long, long run fetching a higher price… my forecast is that spiders will set the market and Coupe will depreciate under them.

I was told 30% spiders by my dealer - he’s been pretty much on the money with what he’s told me so far. Time will tell - I much prefer spiders to coupes but in this case unlike most, I like the design, and have deposits in for both.

If more spiders are built it is because the demand is higher. If that carries through to the used market it won’t have any effect on comparative residuals. It is easy to make the mistake of believing low volume drives price. But that is wrong. Lower supply than demand drives price up.

It will literally take that ratio to bring some sort of parity on resale between the 2 versions - IMO
Anyways best to enjoy whatever one ends up getting. Resale is a secondary thing but a valid consideration none the less

This will probably be a controversial opinion, but I don't think it looks good at all. Largely because it draws a lot of inspiration from 365 Daytona, which I personally think is one of Ferrari's worst looking designs. The 250 Testorossa or the 375 LM would have been far better inspiration choices IMHO. The F12 was a very elegant looking car, the F12 TDF was a pinch more aggressive but it was still a great cohesive design. The 812 I didn't care too much for the front, I felt the front headlights where far too long/extended. But the 812 Competizione really looked awesome as the extra flair made the design much more dynamic and hardcore. Even the modern classic 550 Maranello looked powerful, elegant and cohesive in it's design.

The 12Cilindri is a little too boxy in my opinion, I think the best looking spec on these will be all black to hide the busyness of the design and just showcase the profile, which is fairly nice. I'll be curious to see the TDF/Comptetizione version of this but that's certainty a few years out. All that said I'm am stoked that they kept the V12 naturally aspirated and unassisted, so that's a win. I'm sure that the GTS version will be about 25% of the production run so those will out pace coupes in price retainment for sure.

Yup. Back in the day there wasn't a forum I wasn't on. Largely because I've been lucky enough to drive everything, so it's fun connecting with other enthusiasts. I think FChat though is the longest time I've been a member of a forum, I've been here since 2005. But I just had a recent featured post on Bimmerpost, I gave a 15 year ownership review of my E46, which I still can't believe how great that car is. Though no lie driving the 812 Superfast it felt like the M3 just with waaaaaaay more power and the ability to do burnouts in 3rd gear (ask me how I know )

It's just an artist perspective and attitude. Frank Lloyd Wright had a similar attitude about the furniture he designed for HIS house. LOL
I get it, personally but I'm not sure how that's going to work with mass produced (in Ferrari terms) half a million dollar cars. Your artist license doesn't stretch as far as you think on these terms.
It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm personally curious to see how stripes will be integrated.
