Why 2026? Why not boot whomever it is Ferrari has in there now and get Newey in there asap. Might be able to salvage at least 3rd in the Constructors Championship if he starts asap!!
Ok, no worries. We will see what happens. He may just retire, the entire time we are here thinking he will go and work for Ferrari. I bet Ferrari will throw a SH**T load of money at him to try and attract him to the Scuderia.
I am actually looking forward at the thought of Newey possibly working for Ferrari to help them try and win another WDC. Good times ahead men!! (Hopefully!)
Well he’s got a three place penalty (or was it five?) for the GP anyway, so won’t be easy. As long as he beats his team mate, that’s the main thing.
A rainy weekend here, so I watched a replay of the 1977 Indy 500 (A J fan). I learned several things: 1 - Foyt only built 3 Coyote's for the seasons 1973 thru 1978 to service a 2 car team! 2 - I didn't realise how small the Coyote was which got me thinking about the size of F1 cars of that era. The Coyote and Ferrari B3/T are very close in width and size: 2m wide and about 4.5m long. Then I looked at a 2024 F1 car: 2m width but almost 5.4m long. That is the footprint of a Chevy Silverado crew cab pickup! No wonder we have next to no passing except in the pits or with DRS.
I forget where I found this pic, but it’s crazy to look at it to see how big/far these F1 cars have come. It would have been great to see the size of them back in the 80s and 90s. Image Unavailable, Please Login
