Couple of clients have recently expressed interest in showing their previously not shown nor judged (vintage) Ferraris and perhaps getting them judged and asked my suggestions for appropriate venues, which made me wonder when and where might future (2025 & beyond) FCA Annual Meets be held ?

Next year in the Carolinas. Don't recall where. Pretty sure Monterey is due again in the next couple of years.

If any of them is from the east coast Chatanooga last year was a great event. I am looking forward to going back.

    Thanks guys.
Two from west coast and one from Europe.
All express willingnesses to transport/travel to attend, but my presence is also requested, so schedules have to match.

Chatanooga was multi marque. Its a charity deal involving a big section of downtown. A very wide variety of cars from Ferrari, American 30's, muscle, Porsche. A little of everything. Some very interesting guest speakers.

Thanks, but we’re currently only considering Ferrari only and specifically FCA Annual Experience type meets with IAC/PFA guideline judging (with CBM/CGT options).
    No interest in Cavallino either.

I understand the Cavallino part. Too bad it didn't happen in time for Road America. Looks like over 120 cars entered. How many over is too soon to tell. Some very cool competition cars. One collector alone has said hes bringing 25 cars and he has some very special stuff. Dana Meekum is bringing several from his collection.

I hope the guys in Charlotte are as proactive at promoting the event to collectors and owners as the guys running this event are. It was sold out before the entry discount period was over. Every week or so I run serial numbers through Barchetta and every time its holy ****, one of those is coming.

Anything in horizon for SoCal or NorCal ?
Obviously, former would be most ideal for us. I enjoyed last one in 2012, especially pleasure drive up to Mt. S.J. &. the host venue. The track, due to distance, location & lack of interesting layout/scenery/etc. was kind of a dud. (Could Thermal Club be available for something like this ?).

Monterey within the next couple of years.
The difference between a great event and a dud is the track. History has shown that over and over yet remarkably no one learns. Great, storied, historic tracks draw people. Club tracks 100 miles from the venue don't. That leaves Monterey, Road Atlanta, Road America, Watkins Glen, Daytona, Sebring and just a couple of others that escape me right now. Atlanta, Daytona and Sebring are essentially in the same region so they don't all really count. The local region runs the event and it is a huge amount of work. You really cant expect them to do them more than every 10 years or so. So Cal has no track.

So you don't consider Willow Springs or Thermal Club "tracks" ?
I think if latter had been built and available in 2012, it would've been very close to Indian Wells, a.k.a. "Palms Springs" National event host venue back then.

What great racing history involving Ferrari has taken place there? What part of their description fits into "Famous, historic, storied "?

Willow existed last time and was rejected because of its location.

OK, I understand now, but also imagine if those criteria will be requirements for host venues, pretty soon there won’t be many left.

A participant at the FCA Annual at Mont Tremblant got BLACK FLAGGED for the decible level of his F430 Scud’s stock exhaust… :(

Fort Ord was closed in 1994 and the locals have been trying to close the track ever since. I am not aware they are any closer to it happening now as they were then.

Some of the locals are very slow to accepting the Monterey Peninsula is a tourist location .

That picture is of a race car and he came prepared with that exhaust. It was far from the 1st time it was used.

Routine at many race tracks. Welcome to 2024. I was directly involved at the last national meet at Laguna Seca with the track component and we were very clear and repetitive about sound limits and people just blew it off. Many showed up with straight pipes.

We were very clear many stock Ferraris out of the showroom will not pass the sound levels. Smart people made preperations. One guy with an F1 car pulled a roll of hundreds and asked me what it was going to cost him. I laughed in his face and walked away.

    You just cant fix stupid.

This is true, they were prepared. My comment is more that it is sad that it has come to this even at such historic tracks.

    Spoken for truth.

I got busted for loud exhaust on my Datsun 510 in Salinas in 1975 on my way to Laguna Seca. None of this is a new thing.

Laguna Seca was built on the border of an Army artillery range. As soon as the Army ceded control to the locals none of this was ok.

First road trip to Monterrey, Tarpy's Roadhouse once sat by itself with a gravel parking lot. Next FCA Nationals to Monterrey, Tarpy's is behind a strip mall. Look around the hillsides at Laguna Seca and its full of "wow houses". Politely you can call it progress. To me this is like someone moving next to an airport and then bitching about the planes. Money talks and Laguna Seca's days maybe numbered.
