Youtubers have started to post the polls about the response to the 12 cilindri design uThose social influencers who gauge the response of mainly younger car fans and perhaps reflect the majority of the car market but under represent the customers who actually buy new Ferraris--report that the majority of their audience give the 12 cylindri a thumbs down on the styling. This is a segment who weren't even alive to see a Daytona Nevermind the Black Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona replicas that were shown on network TV WTF is Network. I watch tik tok and Apple and Netflix and HULU!
Who cares what others think? If you like the car, buy it and enjoy it.. Personally I do not like the coupe, the GTS is a lot better looking roof up or down. I'm also not a big fan of the Daytona "plexi" front bit, having that in body colour would be a lot better or simply opt for a very dark colour for the rest of the car.
Well to be honest I do like a lot this design, classy and simple. But I still don’t understand why customers won’t be allowed to have a body colored roof..
Most of the people that comment about the car won't ever buy one, so it's perhaps better to keep the cars appealing to those who buy them. I may go against what I perceive it is the main perception here: most people prefer the 812 over this simpler one. The reason that kept me from buying a Superfast was that, in my perception, it had far too many things happening in it's design: a lot of arches, things, protuberances and I felt it was like a cake with far too much meringue that made me indigested by so many things. While this far simpler, straightforward, elegant and modern piece has my deposit on it.
The car is super "UGLY" – But they will try to convince you of the opposite, to make you buy it!!! "it's as simple as that" –
Yes, brain-dead Gen Z humanoid drones care. They are nonfunctional resource-wasting collections of cells that blindly follow any drivel that pollutes their phones, especially from so-called "influencers." In other words, Ferrari's new target market.
I can't say it's ugly, I know I don't like it, they charged me so much at the dealership that I was convinced to sell my 812gts...... I don't buy a car to make a profit, I buy it because I like it, my 296 that I configured I already know will be a risk to waste of $ but I like the way I built it. I wouldn't know where to start with this 12C and " to make me like it" I would have to put in 200k of optional extras , full black full carbon ...... It doesn't make sense to me ...... just my personal opinion
I am trying very hard to like the car and come back here regularly to see pics, different angles etc etc and still I am having trouble. I think my GTS will stay and I will wait until the "dust settles" to decide
I think there’s a bit of disappointment found in the fact that this is definitely an unexpected design from Ferrari. People have a preconceived notion of what they expected this car to look like, including myself. To be honest, I was shocked when I first saw it. It doesn’t look anything like what I was expecting. But after two weeks (and I have yet to comment publicly regarding the design), I can honestly say that this is the most favorable reaction I have had to a new Ferrari since the 458. I think it’s stunning from every angle. It manages to be futuristic and unexpected while also maintaining simple, unobtrusive lines. No need for any excess gills or flaps. Yes, there are some weird features with the Daytona bar up front and whatever is going on with those flappy things at the rear. But I could also say that about the catfish whiskers on the 458 and the uterus on the rear of the F12, which are, in my opinion, the best looking Ferraris of the modern era. This car is simple with clean, sculpted lines. It gives me vibes or a regular production version of the sp1/sp2 with a roof, which is a wonderful thing. Despite the initial reaction, I recon we’ll look back fondly on this design in 15-20 years. I want one.
Ferrari has had three lines of production: the limited ones and then two other ones: GT's and Sports Cars. In the GT's we've had recently V8s (Portofino, Roma) and V12s. The Sports Cars have always been more aggresive in the styling while the GT's were founded in the 50's and 60's, elegant tourers (not slow). Scaglietti, Fiorano... were part of those elegant GT's while the Superfast was like a grown up Sports Car. So it made sense, in my opinion to go back to the roots and return to the elegance and simplicity of those designs.
It is a 'heavy word' for a Ferrari car but as an architect, i dare to say that 12 Cilindri is ugly as f**k.....
I can't forget the first time I saw the photos, I'm in Asia so the reveal didn't match my timezone and I was sleeping as the event took place. I don't know if it was a call from the universe or not but I swear I woke up in the middle of the night due to a nightmare and the first thing I could think of was "Oh s*** let's check the F167 it should be revealed by now!". Got on F-chat and immediately locked my phone, went to sleep with pure disappointment. Now that the car is here and there's nothing I could do about it the design started to grow on me, still think the fugly black rear end is -well, fugly- but once you fiddle with the configurator (especially the rims) it's not as bad as the press photos. But I won't be able to afford one in a long while, so who cares? Also please don't talk **** about my peers. I know from the outside gaze we look horrible but trust me those algorithms and the media shows the worst of us. I don't go around reminding people of the ****ty choices we made as humanity during the past century!
I guarantee if you show up with the car all of these "influencers" would be all over you trying to video it and put it on their site.
Well said - just gets better. People I’ve talked to that have seen the car in Miami say they loved it and pictures don’t do it justice. However, we don’t seem to be able to move past the F12 and 812 neither of which were paragons of design. I really like my 812GTS - less so my Superfast but it’s more about the way they handle than their looks. I think both of the two older models look bulky and heavy whereas the new C12s are sleeker and to me more of a Grand Tourer look and will clearly have improved performance. Anyway each to their own and if the haters are right, people like me who like the design will lose our shirts on the cars because we don’t appreciate design!
If you look at all the other trash they point their phones at, you quickly realize it's NOT a compliment.
