'96 Euro F355 2.7 Wiring Diag requested

Wiring diagram requested please. Secondary air pump is not getting power.

See bottom right hand corner of diagram for pump and valve. Relay N ("E10") has two separate outputs for these. The relay coil is controlled by the RH Motronic ECU, pin 21. The relay coil should get power from the ignition. The ECU provides an earth for the coil.

There is one inline connector between the passenger footwell relay panel and the RH Motronic ECU, i.e. 40151. Pin 10 of this connector carries the signal. Pin 10 has a blue/yellow wire.

Note that the pump will only be powered with the engine cold.

Somewhere in the engine bay on a 2.7 (at the sides, I believe)

In theory, if you shorted pin 10 to ground, you should get the pump to run (with the ignition on). You just have to figure out which side of the plug goes to the relay. I think it's the pin side (rather than the socket side).

Do you have any other issues? I'm wondering if your coolant temp sensor is faulty.

Other issues, car is weak on power and cold starts are difficult. Initially thought one fuel pump is out but it is a single pump model. Been sitting for 2-3 years so not sure if trash was sent in to fuel filter. Will check my fuel pressure (any advice best way to do this?)

 

I suppose a faulty coolant temp sensor might cause difficult cold starts, but I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions, especially given that the car has been sitting for 2~3 years.

 

Pump turns on when pin 10 short to ground. Unplugged RH ecu and car runs the same. How do I check if RH ECU is getting power?

Shook the RH ECU relay at the fuse box and she came alive. I have a loose pin on the fuse box side any help on which plug or color wires I’m looking at that go to RH ecu. I should be in business.

 

The RH ECU controls the RH ECU relay ("L"). After the ignition key is turned on and the ECU runs through a quick self-test, it energises the coil of the relay. There's a red/yellow wire on relay panel plug H (pin 11) which goes to the ECU. The plug is on the back of the panel.

If you're shaking the relay, it's either poor relay pin contact or a faulty internal circuit board causing the issue (or the relay itself). Is that what you mean by a loose pin on the fusebox side. You can open up the panel and look inside, but I've been told that repairs are not too successful. You have to be very careful with your soldering iron.

I've forgotten why the relay L contacts were (already) circled.

I don't feel like pulling my car to pieces today

 

Getting 12V on pins 86 and 30. Contact on plug H pin 11 making contact and relay energize/clicks.

 

All seems ok on the input side (although it may be intermittent).

The output goes to
1) the R/H fuel pump relay (N/A to single pump installation)
2) pins 7 & 8 on relay panel plug H (green and white wire respectively)


I assume you've tried swapping L & O relays?

 

Putting power to pin 7 Green wire while plugged up. It starts working.

 

Swapped relays no difference and car is a single pump.

 

Would it need a RH fuel pump fuse even if the car is a single pump model?

 

The fuel pump fuses only power their respective pumps, so not required on the RHS. However the RH fuel pump relay powers the RH O2 sensor heat (via a different fuse)

 

Sounds like everything is working the way it should. It seems the intermittent fault in the fuse panel is the only clue we have.
