Well, you can blame @JSinNOLA because he got me under the rope, you may wish to rethink coming cause TF is coming to town. I'm thinking of swinging by Sturgis and picking up some buddies. Yeah baby, we're talking about a wet-T shirt concurso. Let's flash some headlights!

Glad you are going to make it. Of all the venues we go to Road America is near or at the top of the list. The region that puts it on are really good at this.
I would encourage anyone wanting to go to sign up. There are always cancellations. It will be a long time if ever we have this many cars of this quality and importance. And there will be some very special cars on the track. Bring a camera.

The top picture, my geometry teacher was one of Lee Marvins gang in that movie. That was a fun class. Didn't learn much but we had fun.

Dale, I have heard about a few more confirmations of cars attending. You should be really glad you got a ticket.
Bring a camera with a big memory card. There are going to be a lot of very special cars. We have 4 classes of just early Enzo era (pre Daytona) cars and some very special stuff.

If I were you Id call Siebkins and the Osthoff and get on whatever wait list they might have. There are always cancellations.
Then Id get a room in in Johnsonville or whatever that can be cancelled if a cancellation comes through.
Id offer the spare bed in exchange for my bar bill but my other half would throw us both out.

Osthoff has a large lawn in back. Go to REI and get a tent.

Check the assorted Kohler hotels. Then there are regular chain hotels places in Plymouth and also Blue Harbor.

I was late to register, so booked at the Inn on Woodlake in Kohler. Discounted rate also if attending FCA annual event, and no penalty for cancellations made prior to 72 hours of arrival date. Wait list for Osthoff and Siebkens was over 20 when I check about a month ago.

So, how can a person see the Concours cars and/or all the Enzo-era cars that are coming? I'm not a member, but would join if that would allow me to see said cars. It seems that all slots for members are taken, so it feels like I'm out of luck(and I wouldn't pay $6xx or more just for a couple hours at the Concours).
Is there any opportunity for me?

It is not a public event. It is a private event for the benefit of club members. And it is sold out even to members. The show is at a privately owned facility and access is to ticketed club members only.

There are benefits to being a member and this is one.

If you go to a couple events, the membership pays for itself. They take care of you. I got to drive a pre-production Roma before automotive journalists were able to and they gave me a goodie bag with over $100 worth of stuff too. Every event I've gone to besides the annual they paid the admission fees. It's really worthwhile. Unlike the Viper Owners Association here [emoji1787]

After the prices Ferrari and Canossa charges for events now, FCA is pennies on the dollar.

Well, I'm not staying with all you ballers. I got a drug dealer special in Plymouth. They offer complementary 9 millimeter bullets.

Save for the public display surrounding the Siebkens in the evening of Sept. 10th which is obviously not a concours.

See how they are fixed for recharging electric cars. I have a feeling the 296, la Ferrari etc owners are going to have trouble in the Osthoff parking lot.

I thought of that. Do any Enzo-era cars show up, or just modern stuff?
(BTW, I went to the Concours in 2009 at Osthoff, and on another occaision at Road America, and both times it was open,)

Osthoff is wide open so is essentially public. Cannot change that. Sometimes the event is held in a park so same thing. At Road America the entire facility is being rented so it should be closed.

If my memory is correct we have around 120-130 cars being judged. Many more on display. Many of the most interesting cars are just on display.
Of the judged cars about 40-45 are Enzo era. Maybe a few more. Many cars of the 50s. There are a couple very special and very rare cars coming I will not give any details on. One best of the best and a potential best of the best. An entire class of race cars and a bunch of race cars for display only. I am still massaging it but there will be 17 or 18 classes of cars. That is unprecedented and was limited by the number of judges we could get. We were offered many more cars but could not take them. We had to limit how many a couple of big collectors were allowed to bring. One collector is bringing 25 cars. Dana Meecum is bringing several from his collection. This event sold out before the discount ticket period ended. Its a guess on my part but I think we'll have 75 or so Enzo era cars and quite a few of those will be on track.

Monterey in 2004 was great. I hope this one is at least half as good!!

The people around Road America are more supportive of the track than the people around Laguna Seca. That is a shame, and I hope Laguna does not shut down like Riverside ever. Hopefully all the car collectors around the northern California area make sure it never closes.
