I agree with many of the suggestions that have been made here. Make it a non-championship race, break up qualy into groups of ten, offer a 5 or 10 million dollar prize for first place(or is that too n i g g a r d l y by today's standards). The N word used is not a racist word.

Likely a non issue for 99% of the people watching or commenting on the race. Why is Friday not a mandatory quiet day in Monaco anymore? I’m programmed to watch practice on Thursdays. Just curious, as I love traditions.

I have an idea of where they might have taken a wrong turn as I did so myself the first time I loaded it up. Between turns 18 and 19 the pit lane has/had markings that indicate a turning lane which unseasoned drivers might interpret as directions in an ambiguous zone. Now I can at least follow the track! Funnily enough, the Monaco GP has to be downloaded as a mod w the 2017 track details in AC.

If it were a non-points race, give everyone equal base prize money. Skip qualifying all together and line them up in reverse drivers standings order at the time (Max would start 20th). Then they can earn additional prize money with every place they finish above their starting position in the race. That would be an interesting race with the fast cars starting at the rear....

At a track where it’s exceptionally hard to pass? Sounds like a parade to me.

No, the whole point is it would be extra motivation to pass with nothing to lose...which is a totally different scenario from normal where they have to be cautious...but you might call it a bumper car contest or demolition derby;-)

    It would not be boring!:)

Would the cost of repairs be included in the budget cap though ... :p

You're absolutely correct it would be a bumper car derby, and the teams would never allow it as per William's comment. The drivers would be so afraid of damaging their car attempting a risky overtake that they would never try it in a non-points race. Thus the race would still result in the same boring parade as at present.

A good example of what happens when F1 drivers don't care about damaging their cars are these photos of the entry and exit to the hairpin that I took during the 1979 ProCar race. These days it's just a parade through that corner, but in the ProCar race they attempted to overtake both going into the hairpin and even 3 abreast in the exit leading to the tunnel. It was absolute carnage, but the F1 drivers really didn't give a crap.

I don’t hate the Monaco Grand Prix, but with these huge cars it seems a little pointless…

They could cancel the Imola Grand Prix too! I fast forwarded through much of the second half.

They have to get the schedule back to a reasonable number of races. Why not have exciting races while we are at it?

You are always going somewhere interesting!

Next time you need a caddy, let me know a few months in advance! My schedule is usually pretty full.

Liberty is all about making money. The more races the more $$$. If Monaco cant pay its fair share I am sure another Asian or Middle Eastern country will step in. Liberty could careless about the historic significance of some of these European races. Liberty would rather have some of these lame races like Miami and Las Vegas where they can control the event and make even higher profits. That is why the food at Miami GP was $200 for a hamburger. They aren't getting my money. They'll be lucky if I even watch the race on TV.
